All right, say there is a Creationism class, either as part of a Biology class or separate, and either in addition to Evolution or replacing it.

What do you think the pensum in this class should be?

I can't imagine. The whole theory of criationism is "God created everything". It does not exactly take a semester to state that.

Regards :).

Look at the bright side - you could ace all the exams without doing any studying at all. The answer to all questions is always:

"God made it that way"

Faith is often the boast of the man who is too lazy to investigate. (or too ignorant to investigate, if we're talking about religious fundies)

What in the world is a pensum?

I was thinking the same thing...I guess just a word God created.

Remember the Simpsons episode where they joined a cult?

Mrs. Krabappel: Who can tell me who invented the lightbulb?
Bart: The Leader?
Mrs. Krabappel: Very good Bart, and who can tell me who invented electricity?
Bart: *scratches head and thinks* ... Uh, the Leader?
Mrs. Krabappel: Correct again.
etc.

So in the creation class it would be:
Teacher: Who can tell me why we are able to carbon-date things which indicate the world is millions of years old, rather than 6000?
Pupils: Because God made it look that way.
Teacher: Correct.
etc.

Just a quick word, radiocarbon dating only works for things around 50,000 years old and newer. There are longer term radiometric dating techniques like potassium-argon and uranium-lead, that work into the millions and billions of years.

The pensum would be about preaching on how Descartés, Newton, Einstein, Bohr, Joule, Watt and so many others were satanists who were members of secret societies out to bring Satan onto the earth.

It looks like it's Norweigan for "lesson plan" or "sylabus".

Indeed - syllabus.
Oops. I thought pensum was derived from latin or something and was used somewhat "internationally", or at least in english and french, etc.
Good thing that was cleared up.

Now, is there any comments from the creationist-side of the debate? So far there's only been comments from the evolution-side.

Pensum is derived from Latin and is used occasionally (I've heard it before). We just have idiots on this board who don't understand Latin ;)

In Latin, "pensum" means a problem or set of problems, or else something that needs to be considered or contemplated. It doesn't quite mean what you meant it to mean, but it accurately describes what creationism lacks.

I figured out what pensum meant in context, but when I first read it I had no clue what it was.

Finding flaws with Evolutionism, describing motives for leaning to creationism, learn more about God and the earth. Screw around all day. Pretty much just do whatever you want since there aren't any facts to memorize, and no processes to comprehend.

reading stupid Strobel books and convincing girls that oral sex doesn't constitue virginity loss.

The final paper would be to write a thesis about something very complicated, show how it can't be solved with your current understanding of it, and thus conclude that God did it.

My question would be, how is this paper graded?
You start at 100% and you get points taken off for anything that actually gives information.

hey, why has no creationist answered here to give us HIS idea what should be taught?????
