A&E is dead.

OT may argue to be the most active but that does not equate it as "best" or whether the threads on A&E would be suitable there. Traffic will not go to the A&E threads is they were simply transmitted to OT and I would suggest not insulting DYOS by having it on the same sub-forum which has a reputation for, if you forgive me if my opinions are shaped by the days when I was on OT when the following was very common, of vulgar mud fighting.

Ailed, just a tip, you might want to learn how to be more diplomatic with your words. I took the things you said as being somewhat condescending/superior-to-you statements, and that might be why Owen is slightly frustrated to you.

I though we stopped the whole occurrence? The matter has been dealt with as has been seen fit. Now we can focus this thread on matters concerning A&E.

Your tip would be better if it came not in this thread but in a private message so I could respond to you without the threat of derailing the thread.

Don't you think that might have been different when we had community games, discussions of movies, TV series and other A&E, science, technology and sports all going on in the same centralized community? OT did get so bloated that it made sense to split some stuff off, but the way it was done has resulted in very little "cross-pollination" of the non-civ forums and killed a lot of activity that the new forums were supposed to help.

Edit: BTW I guess I should say that I have no desire or wish to see DYOS moved back to OT as things stand now, it wouldn't work out the same. And of course the people who are running it now should have complete control of that, I hope they still have a great time with it whatever it is like now compared to back then.

Hmmm...

The Other Games sub-forums are shown to be quite active, while the history sub-forum has also its activity.

I do not think that placing A&E stuff into OT will "save" that stuff; having media talks and politics in the same sub-forum will have to be considered with care less it causes annoyances.

We must make our steps with caution.

You may very well be right of course. These things often have unexpected results as evidenced by me and others ranting over the creation of those other sub-forums, forum splits and all the other changes that have happened over the years. Rash action should not be taken lightly.

I guess I was just due an "everything was better on the forums in the old days" tirade. :old:

I honestly do think we could do with more centralization of the non-civ forums, but by all means it should be done in a vastly more considered way than say, the april 1st forums split (Even though that was pretty much the most epic april fools ever).
