A New Dawn Beta Builds

To be honest I would love it if other religions can spread via non-missionaries, it would help the issue of founding first being such a benefit. I imagine the chance would be affected by the civics of the city, and of the city where the religion is coming from - and probably be at a lower chance after the first religion has been established.

Thus, there's still a large place for religious decay - not the least of which a noticeable decay for Atheism is in order since it represents active suppression of religions.

the probability of acquiring a new religion in a city should depend on how many religions it already has and decrease exponentially with the amount. maybe the cities culture level could also have an influence on this.

if so then i like it. otherwise i'm worried about overreligiousness. hmm... maybe this feature would be best combined directly with religious decay for DH? makes sense: more religious spread but therefore religious decay.

You just described exactly how I coded it. ;)

I think the chance of a religion moving into a city "naturally" should be affected more on the population than the number of religions already there. The bigger the population the more likely, adjusted for religion civic, the chance it will spread.

Bugs report for revision 165 from SVN.

1. There is not any building in the city's building list.
2. The city's culture bar is missing.
3. The Realistic Culture Spreed game option can not be disabled.

I know the latest revision is 168, but there is not log about fixing these bugs.

P.S. I moved to a new address last week, and it took about 10 days to connect the internet, since I couldn't keep beta testing for those days.

Oh, I forgot to report the modules I installed: The default custom settings except added the idelogy civics.

i agree on the population/city size dependency but i disagree to change the dependency on religions that are present. no matter how large a city is new religions will have a hard time establish themselves against the already present religions. religions compete with each other. in the end you can be only member of one religion at a time.

lichen, it looks like there are python errors. Can you enable error logging if you haven't already and upload the contents of your log folder?

I enabled the logging system and played the game again, there was not any error message though I showed up the city screen.

Here's the rar file of logs, excluding two big xml loading logs.

Lichen, the bug is because the DLL you are using it out of date. You need to grab the source files and compile a new DLL, and it will fix your issues. There was no bug. ;)

You need to update your "Patch Install Script", Afforess. The revision is 168.

You probably shouldn't use the patch install script, since it's leftover from 1.73J and there are no patches for 1.74. You'll want to run a full install.

Oh, Should I only use the main installer? I always use the main installer and then the patch installer. Thanks.

Keep in mind this:
Patches are save-compatible files that fix the main version AFTER the version no longer is a beta version, in other words an official version. So ignore patch installer until 1.74 and any future versions turn into an official version :).

The above is mostly for any newcomers to SVN. So no offense intended to Lichen's intelligence because he already know this :D.

When starting the game, failed to load Better_RoM_CIV4ReligionInfo.xml. I checked the xml file, and can't found its schema file "Better_RoM_CIV4GameInfoSchema.xml" under the whole assets directory.

Edited:

That schema file dosen't exist under the SVN folder too.

To os79: Thank you for the reminder.

At the revision 168, in the in-game RoMSettings panel, the check boxes "Show Detailed RevIndex Values" and "Event Images" have not effect. These two options are always disabled.

Edited:

Maybe it's a bug too: Even a city has not the Siege Workshop, it still can build ancient siege weapons.

A New Dawn 1.74 Beta 1 has been released for testing!

Please Note: A New Dawn 1.74 is designed for RoM 2.92. Do Not attempt to install it over 2.91, or earlier releases.

The OP has a full changelog on it. Before reporting bugs, check that it isn't already listed under "Known Bugs". Have Fun. ;)
