A New Dawn Beta Builds

Realistic Corporations is definitely off. I doubled checked. When I play with it on, I don't get the icons at all, grayed out or otherwise.

Be sure you aren't running a civic that blocks corporations.

I just ran a test game without Realistic Corporations, and was able to found a guild once I switched out of barter and had the right prereq's.

Congrutulations for the AND 1.74 final. I already downloaded and installed, gonna to test it, until the opening of Starcraft2 public-testing in Taiwan. :) ( I already downloaded the client, and wait for the server turns on in 3 hours. )

This may have been asked before but if it has I can't find it. Since Rom is not yet in its final version but AND is in its final version, how are things going to work when new versions of Rom come out? Will AND's designer just check in every once and a while ensure that AND 1.74 is compatible with whatever the new version of Rom is?

1.74 being a final release doesn't mean I'm abandoning A New Dawn, I'll still update A New Dawn for each following Rise of Mankind release, and will release patches and fix bugs, but the main part of it's development is over. There may even be a 1.75 release to coincide with RoM 3.0, but it won't differ substantially from what AND is now.

His answer.

I'm confused, Is this version (1.74 made with SVN and that other thing) the same as the 1.74 in Main Download info.
Also, do i have to install the patch F if i created my own installer?
Don't use this one, just use the one in the main download thread.

Downloaded Rev 303 and whilst building the installer it comes up with errors as it's looking for 'A New Dawn Assets' folder. Found the problem as the folder has been renamed 'Rise of Mankind - A New Dawn' with the Assets folder in there.

Also, is this version stand alone? or does it need Rom 2.92 still?

NOTICE:
THE REVISIONS IN SVN ARE NOT READY FOR RELEASE YET!! WAIT UNTIL AFFORESS OR I ANNOUNCE THAT IT IS READY!!

On the question of final shape: yes it is a standalone mod so you won't need to download RoM 2.92 or whatever other versions :).

LOL -- Thanks for the info OS79. I had't tried building the installer seeing how fast the revisions were coming....but it's a good sign that people are interested in the alpha already -- seems a lot of us agree with the next round of changes coming down the pike (cleaned up unit upgrade chains, "editorial licenses to some content", etc.) :D

The First Beta in the 1.75 Series is up. Please Note Two Things of Interest:

1.) It is very large. 800mb. This is because RoM alone is already 400mb, compressed, and the additional music, videos, artwork AND adds brings the total to 400mb. Sorry if you have limited bandwidth.

2.) AND 1.75 is a standalone mod. You don't install it over any old versions of Rise of Mankind. Be sure you select your MODS folder. Be sure you adjust your shortcuts, and ini's.

Excellent, thanks! I'm assuming that because this is really a new mod, previous saves (1.74H) are broken?

Oh, and how do I re-enable Revolutions? It seems to be disabled I think, as the old Che button is missing. :(

Size does NOT matter:lol:

Good, i am getting ready to put out a Beta of Prehistoric added also, with the help from Dancing H. A few more things to tidy up with, but i am leaving ALOT of space inbetwwen PreH and Ancient Just Incase.:p

EDIT: One question for ya, what is the name of the mod going to be, i am asking because i need to know if i need to rename RoM or not in the mod area:confused:

Hi there... yay my first post :D

For me it installed inthe same folder as before (BTS/mod/Rise of Mankind) ... change the name of your older folder before installing the new version ;)

hope this really improves the turn time :) ill give you feedback once i tested (prob in a few hours)

ok im starting with the tests now.

first thing i noticed was that the mod didnt load with the standard install (it installed in the BTS/mods/ROM/ROM-AND folders (without the abreviations ofc)) i had to copy the mod to the mods folder to get it working, even with the manual load in the standard folder it wouldnt load (or give any error.. just reloaded with no alteration at all).

I am not quite sure - are you saying Better RoM is mandatory or that there are no more Better RoM options?

Most install options are gone. Only purely aesthetic options remain. Some are still gameoptions though.

Yes, 1.74H saves are broken. Revolutions are on by default, but be sure the "No Revolutions" gameoption when setting up a map is OFF.

The correct path should be "Beyond The Sword/Mods/Rise of Mankind - A New Dawn"

thats what i thought =)

dunno why it installed in "Beyond The Sword/Mods/Rise of Mankind/Rise of Mankind - A New Dawn" .

anyway, 1300BC on standard map without barbs... everything fine so far, turns are going pretty fast :) loading of the mod is much faster then 1.74 too =) (as anounced)
