A New Dawn Beta Builds

installation? you mean the entirely self contained package?

some comparisons
Cost: Snow Leopard $25 vs Windows 7 $120-220
Space: Snow Leopard 5GB vs Windows 7 16-20GB (both recommended space)
Multicore?: Snow Leopard designed for it vs Windows 7 multicore usable
32-64 bit? Snow Leopard only 64 vs Windows 7 32 or 64

Guys, enough Windows vs Mac. Windows runs can run my mod, macs can not. Dispute settled.

My Mac disputes your claim :smug:

BTW it dawned on me that I could simply install on my Pentium 4 (ick) and then use a flash drive to port it over :cool:

Multiplayer throws OOS at first turn (Recommended MP Installation)

Multiplayer is unstable at the moment, due to RevDCM. The RevDCM have had a bunch of breakthroughs recently with MP, so the next version of RevDCM should be fully MP compatible, even with Revolutions on.

hmmmm we are playing Rise of Mankind multiplayer with all revolutions mod (we have more than 30 civs in game now!) and no problems

with this ModMod, we are getting OOS on the first turn, which doesnt happen on rom, even with revolutionsmod

it has to be something with this modmod

Can you turn on logging and multiplayer logging in all of your Civilization4.ini files, and upload your log folders?

please tell me how to, and we will give you the log

From the OP of RoM 2.9 Bug Reports:

Please post bug reports and feedback from v2.9 to this thread.

About bug reporting:

BtS log files

To enable logging go to BtS folder and open Civ4Config. Check following options to these settings:

; Enable the logging system
LoggingEnabled = 1

; Overwrite old network and message logs
OverwriteLogs = 1

; Enable rand event logging
RandLog = 1

; Enable message logging
MessageLog = 1

Now when you start game, it logs everything to log files. When you exit the game, go to BtS folder, there should be Civ4logs, go there. Zip the log files in that folder and attach the zip file in your post so I can take a look at those files.

UUppss, one of the players had a wrong-installation of the mod. we will try now, and upload the log files if we get OOS anyways!

Ok, we checked all players had the same modfolder size so we installed everything ok (RECOMMENDED MP Installation)

we checked all options ON except ruthless ai and linked cultural regions
we played PerfectWorld2

we get OOS at the second turn of the game (always)

here are the logs, bye!
we expect this mod be playable in MP

Can you get the logs from all the other players too? I need to be able to compare them. Thanks.

ok, i will upload them on the next oos we get, we are not always getting the oos on the second turn, but too early.

we suspect we may have connection problems (package losts on bandwith) but it is not sure, we played rom fine yesterday. (30 civs, revolutions, year 1200dc, epic speed, bigandsmall large map)

I use to have lots of problem in MP, but we got OOS out of the picture by doing one install of ROM + AND on the host computer (mine), than do all the change we want to do (most ressources based), so start a single game to change option in RevDCM.
Than when all is the way we want to play it I upload "MY" Rise of manking map, for the other player.

No big problem with OOS anymore and we use not recomended seting:
Stack attack
archer bombardement
Prize of war
Revolution on
Barbarian civ and general
flexibel difficulty
ect . . .

The worst enemy for MP game are the different seting, and this will happen event if you are sure every one did it right . . .

I've been away for a while, and I notice a feature new since last version I played was the avoid unhealthy/unhappy buttons, but I still seem to be growing into unhappiness. is this a bug or something I've done wrong? standard install plus coal ui. can provide more info if it's not a me problem.

Avoid != Stop

Usually, in cases where the city continues to grow even when avoiding unhappiness, it is because the only alternative is to pick tiles that would result in the city starving, which is often worse than growing. In a decision between starving and growing, the game picks growing.
