A New Dawn Beta Builds

When the time comes, either when jtanner returns or when we can restart the project with Afforess' help, I'd like you to be in the team JosEPh

That shouldn't be a problem. :)

Perhaps we could have an online conference, assign roles, emphasise the vitality of the project and carry on with a new burst of steam? Also, brainstorming.

I agree but right now there's a team leader who is missing from the forum since more than 1 month, another team member who is "suspended" (blueblood) and then there's me... Real life can get really busy at times so I again suggest to wait until the end of the month for an answer from jtanner. I think 2 months without a single reply are enough to justify a new team rising. I'm going to contact Afforess and see what he thinks about it. This mod it's his creation (and Zappara's before him), so I think he's the best qualified person to decide about the future of his mod.

That sounds sensible. Why is Blueblood suspended?

Do Afforess and Zapara still do civ4 stuff or have they moved onto 5?

We have no clue what zappara is doing. It's been 2 years since he last posted. And he had just gotten a new job back then. He was pretty burned out too.

Afforess stops by from time to time. Look at the Resurrection thread for his latest post.

Blueblood asked to be suspended from the project because he's too busy at the moment in real life. He's willing to contribute but at the moment he doesn't have free time for this project.

I've got a new book due out at Christmas, so between now and then will be fairly tied up with revisions and rewriting and millions of tiny tasks, however will have amply time post December to really throw myself at something.

1.75 C, and the game has "Unlimited Wonders" checked, and yet I can't add Silk Road to (my capital) Pgesoa Oels' queue, even when it's empty. I can add it to other cities' queues, though. After completing Plato's Academy the city has five world and two national wonders, not counting the unaddable Silk Road of course.

Ah, the problem was not having a bazaar there. The tooltip didn't say anything was missing, though, so that's still a problem from my perspective, anyway, although perhaps it's beyond the ability of modding to fix. =\

@45*,
Any word from jt?

Also if jt doesn't show after the end of the month and you take over, I'll be glad to help in what I can. But I'm not a modder per se. I know a bit on xml self taught. But I have areas I'd like to address for balance or enhancement. I also need to let you know I'm not a fan of REV (probably already know this) but stating it for the record. The balancing/enhancements would be to AND2 in a REV less setting.

Ah, as a pessimist I was prepared to get a response that the engine naturally assumes you put one of your required N specific buildings in the city you planned to build the wonder in, and that fixing that would be too much work ("after all", if you check help for Silk Road it does say it requires a bazaar; I just tend to rely on the tooltips because it's much faster; the help entry isn't accessible in one click when you can't build something, which is sad given that that's the time at which you need the most information), but if you can make it also check that you did and tell you that you need to if you didn't, that's great. I have no idea if wonders other than Silk Road are like this, of course. It isn't something that I remember coming up for me often, but in this game I had a lot of pre-chopping ready for Mathematics (for every city but my wonder-building capital), and I used it to pump out the required schools of scribes and bazaars for Plato's Academy and Silk Road, respectively.

@Joeseph_II
Still no words from jtanner; Afforess has just upgraded me to SVN admin, so I'll start with the new team from november 1st. I know you don't like Rev ;), before the new team starts modding, we'll have a discussion on which areas/problems we all want to address.
@Daisuki; I'm not 100% sure I can fix it, but I have some ideas that should work; I'll have to make some tests anyway :)

If you edit the tooltip to say something like "X/N [specific buildings] required, including 1 where you build this wonder" for all wonders I think it would avoid people having to go to help to undo confusion ever again.
