A New Dawn Beta Builds

Blue Marble is tricky to turn off, once it's installed. The easiest way is to delete the Art folder and replace it with a clean RoM 2.81 art folder.

Yes, it is probably slowing your game down, try lowering your graphic settings. My game stuttered with Blue Marble until I lower AA down to x4. ;)

OK turned mine down to 4, took out all the extra features of art folder, didnt make any difference, time between turns are over 1 minute now, on Quick, right around turn 250?:(
I even checked Lower Textures in the options.:crazyeye:

Think happend once before when i was on Blitz( but that was the old PC i had), it took forever between turns:confused: I shouldn't have any issues now with this Super Puter.

On quick, isn't turn 250 the industrial era? Turns take longer, the later in the game, no matter the gamespeed. Also, what map size are you playing?

I just noticed a bug with the Corporations and Guilds in Beta9. Corporations are sensitive to load order. I'll post the fix on the OP, and include it in later beta's. (Lord willing, there won't be any more).

Yep, the modular corps and guilds is sensitive, I did mention that in my thread, heh.

Time to check out yer beta9.

*sigh* Same thing is happening as beta8. Hmm. The last working installer (for me, anyhow), and I just checked was beta7. Weird.

Still getting no Wonder movies, no biggie, just thought you ought to know, and that odd bug with the reported time in researching techs during an anarchy seems to fixed a little of it now a tech or 3 are reporting the correct times while others are still stuck at 1 turn each, I know it's not that important, but I thought you'd like to know.

Was I Unofficially Amazing before this? ;)

You're practically perfect
So people say,
Each virtue virtually knows no bound,
Each trait is great and patiently sound,
You're practically perfect from head to toe,
If you had a fault it would never dare to show,
You're so practically perfect in every way,

Both prim and proper and never to stern,
Well educated yet willing to learn,
You're clean and honest my manner refined,
And you wear shoes of the sensible kind,
You suffer no nonsense and whilst you remain,

You're practically perfect in every way,
Practically perfect that's your forte,
Uncanny modders are hard to find,
Unique yet meek unspeakably kind,
You're practically perfect not slightly soiled,
Running like an engine, thats just been freshly oiled,
You're so practically perfect in every way,
Well those are your credentials,
Perhaps you have a few questions?
:hatsoff:

Hey Afforess, what is the OP ? And also just as a side note, the balancing in beta 9 is just fantastic, a huge leap over 1.55. Great work.

..pssh. I don't care about my name. It's not hard to find. Don't worry, my address changes in a few months anyway.

White pages :) I will still track you down :mischief: to the ends of the Earth or at least the US

One minor point to make. This might have been an intentional change, or it might be a bug. Not sure, so I thought I'd point it out.

It looks like a number of the 'or' clauses in resource requirements on some of the 'early buildings' have been changed to 'and' clauses. For example, the stoneworker now require stone and (obsidian or marble or gems). The weaver's hut now requires cotton and (sheep or silk or hemp). I'm not sure if there are more, as I haven't gone over everything with a fine-toothed comb. These are just the ones I've noticed so far.

If they're intentional changes, a reply would be nice, but not necessary.

One other strange resource requirement to note. The sculptor's studio appears to require marble and (stone or marble). I think the first resource requirement isn't supposed to be there?

Definitely not intentional. I accidentally did it when I was cleaning those files up. I just reverted those back.

Also affects Beadmaker's Hut. Mandatory requirement of ivory in addition to any one of the other resources. (Yes, I am going through with the fine comb now to try and find any others.)
