A New Dawn Beta Builds

I tried now over 20 times to download the beta with no resoult so I give up for now.
Maybe I have to wait for the relase Version.
Btw. Dark Ages sounds like a option I probably not even try.

Golden Ages are working perfectly. I just gave myself 10 of each GP and I could set off 7 golden ages, no problem.

So far, Beta10 is exactly the same as Beta9, just with fixed wonder movies.

I'm giving serious thought to pulling Dark Ages from the release, and further refining it.

As for depletion, I'm still adjusting the time, it will be less likely in the release.

Should work, I just tested it again.

Afforess, I think holding on the Dark Ages is a good idea. I like it a lot but it's just not ready for prime time yet.

Golden Ages: I insist that only the first and the second golden ages work. I think I got the third to work only once, but I'm not sure of that. In the last 10 games I have had up to 10 GP's and I can't get the coin light to go on. I've even moved them all to the same city just in case it was changed in some Beta and I missed it. On Feb. 4th Munger agreed:

Munger:

This has been the case for a long time now, so it's not a new issue with 1.60. However I agree it is annoying and does need fixing.

Show me a screenshot with two different great people and a dark golden age button, and I might believe you; however, I DID run a test just a few hours ago with beta9, I triggered 7 golden ages before I ran out of GP.

Anyway, the Dark Ages as they stand now are fundamentally flawed. It's flawed because it's a negative feature; it only removes from the game, it doesn't really add to it. I've already got a plan to fix this; stay tuned after the official release.

Because I am unable to continue my 1.55 game I whanted to download the Beta today but Google Docs brings the Error that the File is to big to be scanned and sadly the link to Download Anyway just brings me back to the same page.

I'm using firefox. I get the Google error page as well, but it does successfully download.

Another strangness - Drama School purges non state religions:confused:

yes it is in a test game - guilds are becoming obsolete but auto corp execs wont go near the city with them.

Edit: in fact they cant spread to them or Sid's cant to the city with Fish Guild

Dancing Hoskuld,

Good catch with the Obsolete HQ bug, I forgot to get rid of those. I've corrected it for the future; use the worldbuilder for now to get rid of it manually.

As for the Drama Theatre, I suspect it's some bizzare interaction with the stuff you've added, I am not seeing anything like that on my end.

makes the drama theatre more interesting :).

Here is the screenshot. I've completed two Golden Ages but it won't do the third one. The mouse over the coin says one more required. If I keep going and save 4, 5, 6, etc. It still will say one more is required.

You need different TYPES of great people. Get rid of one artist and add a GS and the button will work.

From the picture you have 2 artists and a merchant that is not 3 different GP. So you have 3 GP but only two different GP.

Somewhere, I am sure you mentioned that we could have a preqrequsite building OR list. One of AAranda's wonders "Trafalger Square" needs a harbour and I want it to have the upgrades to the harbour also. Or is the current list an OR list the Modikki does not say.

@ Afforess

Above, when talking about beta 10, that is a yet to be released beta 10 right?, Also you metioned the movie fix, but would I be right in assuming the early building requirements ie stone hut needing stone 'and' marble has been reverted back to an 'or marble?

Cheers

Just thought i'd report an error I found with beta9. I'm 379 turns into an epic game and I click end turn and all it does is says "Waiting for other players" and won't let me advance to the next turn so in all sense it just hangs. let me know for anymore info or save game.

A suggestion:

to make religions a little more relevant, why not make dark ages revolve around religion instead of by country. So, for example, all countries that are Christian would all suffer through a dark age when one is triggered.

Also, I think any feature that unnecessarily cripples the AI is not a good thing -- a good player can figure it out, the AI generally can not. As a result, I had not focused on dark ages (or many of the additional buildings for that matter and resource depletion).

Yeah, Beta10 is not released.

A save game, and your A New Dawn.log would be nice.

Maybe it's just me, but it looks like the events with options that give random chance of certain results (for example, discovering herbs and choosing if you want to do testing or not) seems not to be working. It only seems to trigger the certain results, and doesn't even make mention of the chance results.

Got broke when RevDCM started going WoC and has not yet been fixed. When it is fixed by the RevDCM team it will filter through to RoM and AND.
