The other guys haven't registered yet (and I guess my gf's parents never will), but I showed them your pictures and they loved them. They told me to send you their greetings and best wishes for Christmas and the New Year. Oh, and I told them about CFC. My girlfriend: "I've never thought the users of your game forum would be that helpful. Impressing." I guess that was the moment she realized that it wasn't just a game forum, but a community of its own.

Looked on a map to show my family where Dorsten is. I think that is the region my ancestors emigrated from. I know it was somewhere in the area close to the Netherlands. I will ask my mother at Christmas, she has a little book of our family history.

Edit: I've discovered that Dorsten is a mere 1.5 hours away from the Grafschaft Bentheim, where my wife's mother's side is all from.
