A Team PBEM?

-775 – Salamanca continues producing settlers. Our Forbidden Palace completes in Debberland – I wonder if either of the others has started theirs yet. I start barracks in Debberland. Merrilee completes barracks, starts spearman. Two other towns finish chariots and start chariots.

-750 – We complete Horseback Riding. Research set to Literature at 0%. 2 more chariots and a worker complete. Mel is still in anarchy. I change a couple chariot builds to spearmen. Plainsville founded, starts a worker.

My 10 turn update:

16 towns covering 173 tiles (first in land area)
65 total citizens (66% of world population – 1st, Mel has 20% (20 citizens), so that leaves 14% for azza (14 citizens))
1 settler
27 workers
2 curraghs
1 veteran spear
4 regular warriors
1 veteran warrior
29 veteran chariots (strong compared to azzaman, average compared to Mel), and I have enough gold to upgrade 8 to Mounted Warriors + 1 more per turn.

3 galleys

Up Map Making, Monarchy, and Horseback Riding on azzaman.
Up Pottery, The Wheel, Warrior Code, Currency, and Ceremonial Burial (and Mysticism, Polytheism, Map Making, Horseback Riding, and Monarchy) on Mel.

Let it be known, that Piramids + First to republic = lots of growth...

Azza man was willing to trade me currency... but I want to milk my republic advantage as long as possible.

Domestic. You will notice a loss of money. This should ease slightly as those two cities stop roiting.



I've since disbanded my warriors. Suffice to say, all cities are now working on settlers or workers. I'm going to fill my continent fast.


The lands of the enemy. Note: most chamnix' cities are undefended. I might hook up some horses and sent them over. By the time he could respond, I might have raised a few cities.


I fully intend to win this game. Chamnix may the micromanaging God. But how good is he at stabbing in the back?

-730 – I complete a spearman, a barracks, 2 chariots, and a galley. Mel is now a Republic. I’m very confused – chariots do not upgrade to Mounted Warriors, they upgrade to knights. That really would have been nice to know in advance if you make that kind of modification to the game!!!!! :mad:[pissed] I deliberately delayed Horseback Riding to build lots of (now useless) chariots because I had no idea this was a modded game.
 
Just so my opponents are both aware... there is something odd about the horsie upgrade path this game. From looking at the civilopedia:

Chariots are upgraded directly to knights - you cannot upgrade chariots to horsemen.

Horsemen apparently cannot be upgraded to anything, but Mounted Warriors can be upgraded to knights.

Azzaman - I have no idea what (if anything) war chariots upgrade to.

The knight to cavalry upgrade is unchanged.
 
Azza, have you sent this? Because I haven't recieved it.

On Friday, I'll be leaving on a three week holiday for Northern Queensland :cool: So either, some one can replace me, or we can put the game on hold. Personally, I am enjoying this game, and would like the chance to play every turn, but I'll leave it up to you.

I've begun a pre-build in the hopes of getting the Great Library in the Thrown Room. All other cities will keep expanding.

-710 – Complete 2 spearmen and a worker. We are now strong compared to Persia. Mel must have disbanded some stuff now that he is a Republic. I have 4 regular warriors, 1 veteran warrior, 4 veteran spearmen, 31 veteran chariots :cry:, 1 veteran galley, 2 regular curraghs. Upgrade a curragh to a galley.

Now that I no longer need my cash for chariot upgrades, I short-rush a couple galleys using archers.

On the IBT my spearman on a mountain gets redlined by a barb warrior but survives.
