About avatars used on the off-topic forum

I thought it was Noah's Ark. ;)

Yep, I tend to see the same avatars displayed and already have an idea of the response, if it's something where people play their roles correctly.

Besides, there are some among you that have avatars that really stand out. Like Birdjaguar's!

I wonder how many people still think my avatar is a boat. :mischief:

I always thought it was a flying saucer. Which went with the "doomsday" bit if invaders from space came to destroy our planet.

But I see why you might think it's an asteroid or something.

:)

I always thought it was a boat. I just figured it out just now.

Mine is currently the Cat's Eye nebula, as I like astronomy themes for an avatar. It replaces Dionne, a moon of Saturn. Before my custom avatars I used the knight from Civ3.

East Coast Represent!

Let's see. I had...

The Civ2TOT aircraft carrier, which I didn't really intend to get away from, but things happened.
The Civ2TOT aircraft carrier with santa hat.
The Purple Martin (Progne subis RULES!)
The purple teletubby (don't ask)
Back to the Purple Martin, I think
A US/Missouri flag (I'm American, I'm Missourian)
My current avatar, the flag of St. George (I'm England in Igloo's MP Civ4 game)
I tentatively plan to revert back to my Civ2TOT aircraft carrier after this MP game. Either that, Jerry Falwell, or Charlton Heston hefting the Ten Commandments over his head. :D

But you live in illinois.
We are nothing like the east coast. you should be saying Chicago Represent. And have a pic of one of the many bands from chicago.

I really like Chicago, its a tad bit chilly for me. I love the big city and I want to visit New York, but I'm afraid its too expensive to live there.

Is there a place in the world that is always 80 degrees F, sunny, and never rains?

My current avatar is to show my support for the Calgary Flames and Ottawa Senators in the NHL playoffs. Afterwards, back to the Super Beaver!

There's always panhandling!

People usually get default Civ avatars (this being a civ forum). And then in off-topic, they see that everyone is different. So they want to distinguish themselves by doing something everyone else does :p

Honestly, I'd like a new avatar but I still haven't been able to think of something. I think a lot of people have cool avatars -- and mine sucks. Oh well.

I've never had a Civ avatar, come to think of it. I just went blank for the first 700 posts or so.

[old man]An' back in ma' day, ya had to werk ta get those fancy-shmancy avatars. Not like you youngin' today.[/old man]

San Diego, or *shudders* LA? :p

I will never, ever, live in Los Angeles. I'm a Notorious B.I.G. and Boston Celtics fan.

And I always thought it was my posting that set me apart! ;)

The Mayan glyph linked to the royal personage of Bird Jaguar can be credited to some lost artist of the 8th C. The very beautiful, clean rendition of it can be attributed to some kind and talented CFCer who cleaned up my original version. His name too has been lost in the mists of what was December 2005.

If I wasn't scared of volcanoes or global warming submerging the Hawaiian Islands I'd totally move to Honolulu. Check their climate out, could it possibly be any more awesome, except maybe taking off 1" of rain per month?

Will nowhere please you then? Everywhere on earth will be a little too wet, or a little too cold, or have a few too may volcanos or weirdos or whatever.

The only advice I can give you is to stay away from western New York. Unless you really like 7' of snow a winter, and at least 1' in early spring.

Cairo would be nice, except they don't speak English, and are a little aggressive towards Americans.
