Acid Refulx

Um. Well. I'm sorry to cause you woe, Mr Z.

I don't eat very much processed food myself. I'm surprised anyone does.

(For a given value of "processed".)

probably. but we're talking about regular, almost daily reflux here, not once a month.
which, untreated, after a decade or two will lead to a barret's esophagus and cancer later on.

esophageal cancer, btw, not throat cancer.

Problem is, I ended up getting other problems by limiting my diet. So I try not to get cancer but I got another problem in return. :crazyeye:

Yes, but unprocessed food must be available, and cheaper, than the processed thing.

http://curezone.org/forums/am.asp?i=962503 This show how wrong you are. Also Acid reflux is a problem that occurs with me also in addition to those problems.

look, i wouldnt have had a problem if you had said "hey, maybe it's a parasite, you should have that checked out by a doctor" instead of claiming to know that it's a parasite.
without having run any tests. or being a doctor.

Meh. Today I'm going to have some stuff that will bother me but I'll make sure to go a couple days with non-acidic foods and see what goes on.

Avoid fizzy drinks. I seem to always get a reflux when i'm drinking fizzy lager...
If I drink anything after a meal - boom i get the reflux. I'm ok if i slow down. :)

EDIT: Actually made a proper healthy salad today for lunch. Probably the healthiest meal i've ever had.

whats yer weight? do you have sleep apnea? I had the problem back when i was heavier and drinking soda

I read somewhere back then body position while sleeping could be a factor for heavier people, the esophagus (?) changes position slightly allowing for stomach acid to enter from below.

I think the problem went away before i dropped the lbs though, probably when i gave up soda

as for processed foods, i'm no expert but i get the impression our bodies work better when we have to process the foods ourselves - if the processing is done before it reaches our stomachs and intestines nutrients dont get absorbed properly. Fiber is important ;)

I took prilosec or something back then for the problem, I wouldn't recommend that now - seems like the more we try to accommodate the problems we get from improper diet with pills the more problems we create.

I actually love chicken salads if they made right. :goodjob:

I am actually to skinny.

Hopefully you can find an allergy doctor who can test you to see what food is causing such reactions. It will then be your choice to keep eating foods that cause such reactions, or avoid them altogether and change your diet.

I used to get the heartburn/regurgitation symptoms of acid reflux a lot.

Though I didn't realize what they were... I just thought of them as nothing more than the inevitable and natural result of eating a bunch of pizza (heartburn) right before bed (regurgitation.) Or other greasy, spicy, or especially sugary foods.

It went away (and stays away) if I drink plenty of water and wait a couple of hours after eating a greasy/spicy/sugary meal before going horizontal.

So I didn't have some underlying condition: I'd just get acid reflux from eating a difficult-to-digest meal and then not giving my body the resources (water) or time to properly digest it.

reflux has nothing to do with an allergic reaction, as far as i know?

You seem very knowledge, though, Mr HK. Have you had some medical training?
