Additional Civilizations (by DJSHenninger)

EDIT; One hell of a ninja lol, sad to see Hunyadi go but I'm more than pleased to finally see a Corvinus civ :p

In other - possibly bug related news - I reinstalled the Byzantine split again today to have another game as Justinian and the gang and noticed that as Justinian, my first actual policy (not counting openers, which do not increase the cost in base CP anyways) didn't seem to increase the culture cost of policies - though the second did. No idea what was happening, and it's by no means major but I wanted to know if anyone else noticed something similar.

BTW, old Wallachia is still in the European civs section and was never removed.

I'm hoping this (alongside the edit to the wiki :p) means we'll be seeing Corvinus fairly soon - I'm really interested to see what you've decided to go with for his abilities and components.

Also, is Hunyadi kill now? ;__:7

Corvinus actually just needed the war theme, though I still need to make sure one of decisions works. Also not playtested thoroughly enough.

Regarding Hunyadi,

Also scrapped John Hunyadi. Not sure if he'd be a fitting match for Transylvania; and I'm done for a while with the defensive/military civs :p

So yes. Kind of. Maybe. The main feature of his reign is military. I currently lack interest in heavily military based civs. Time for something else. Another continent, perhaps?

Regarding the policy, I realised I forgot to give a dummy policy a Description tag, possibly causing the bug you mentioned. Also considering tearing the Byzantium pack apart and putting them out there separately. It's very.. unyieldy atm.

Also need to update mod support for all the civs I updated last couple of months. Again. lol. There were still some bugs and stuff to fix anyway.

Glad to see Burma is getting a rework as well. Are you going to make a new icon, though? I don't think a map should have a place on a civ icon, even less than on a flag.
As for Argentina, I believe you should choose Avallaneda or Sarniento, but I'm leaning more towards the former, specially since it's supposed to be a civ based around their golden age.
For Mexico, I think you should just keep Hidalgo with new art. Are you going to use the same eagle for the icon, or something else?
I like the choice for Venezuela, should be a nice contrast with Our World's.
Also, some things I have to say about other of your planned updates.
Can you change Armenia's color scheme? I don't think it looks very good in game. Just personal preference, though.
Also talking about color schemes, Montenegro should really have a new one. It's indistinguishable from JFD's Napoleon in game.
I also think Pakistan should have a new icon. As I said before, a plain star and crescent isn't very creative or unique. Hiram has a nice icon for them that you could use though.
Nepal should get a new icon as well. This is just my personal preference though, as I feel it looks a bit awkward for some reason. I recommend basing it on their first flag.

Hm, any reason why you didn't consider Julio Argentino Roca as leader of Argentina? I think he's a much, much more fitting leader to represent the late 19th century in Argentina than, say Avellaneda or arguably Sarmiento (I wa actually torn between Sarmiento & Roca back in the day, but eventually inclined myself towards Roca)

I presume you didn't forget this post?

Hah! You all thought I would have forgotten about this. But I did not.

Now I'll show you all, oh yes, I'll show you all!

Err... ahem

Spoiler :
Alcina's Trench

Conquest of the Desert

Soldiers

Some information on the Frigorificos:

From an inside perspective and from an outside perspective.

Plus some lazy research on the leader himself.

Otherwise, Yrigoyen is really good choice if you want to do a non-warlike Argentina which seems to be what you want to do right now. He's a non-divisive leader which in Argentina is an accomplishment itself and is fairly well regarded there if sort of relegated to obscurity when put alongside the many more... colourful characters that have come from that country.

Maybe I'll change some colours and icons. Don't really see why I should, though, it's all subjective and there are too many (planned) civs to make an indistinguishable colour scheme that's at least a bit based on some kind of historical flag/emblem. I'm also done with making way for other people's civs.

I didn't forget, I'm not making an Argentina based on the 19th century, just any Argentina will do. And that's why I chose Yrigoyen, because I'm going for leaders held in high regard first, though the biggest reason is that I'm interested in him the most; choosing another leader might stall progress due to lack of interest.

@Hoop_Thrower : On a bright side, possibly more Argentina mod. Yay!

That is... if someone interest and willing to make it...

@Icon.

Once upon a time, I searched for the hex code of green in Portugal flag for reason I forgot, and I google the hex code on internet.

That green is called "Pakistan green" by a site. The end.

I don't know where you got the idea that I don't like the idea of Yrigoyen's Argentina, I very much like it, I mean, with a nickname like "Granary of the World" the civilization practically writes itself.

It just struck me as surprising to choose an otherwise obscure argentine president to do a mod out of, as in even in Argentina he's sort of a forgotten, if cherished, figure.

I think part of modding civs is to make certain leaders and countries less obscure, or CL could pack their bags :mischief:. I actually don't like picking leaders based on how popular they are today, as some are unrightfully forgotten, and sometimes the well known leaders are just not that great at all. Tut.. xD

Granary of the World is a nice trait name.. :p

Anyway, I've chosen these colours as Hungary's, but I don't like them anymore.
I was wondering if anyone else could give it a go. I somehow (wrongfully) associate orange with Hungary. So I do want some kind of orange.

Made one with orange (since you love it so much)
and some more hungarian colours, Green and Red.
I used white for the icon in 2 of them because the shield looks so good in white!

I can send you the colour codes if you like any of these.

Hello :)

I just finished a game with modded Medieval Serbia on Immortal which I easily won by Culture and then by Diplomacy 3 turns later.

I rolled a Gold heavy map and I tested all the civ components and traits:

Kefalijas work really good when there's much Mine resources, towards the end the yield was 10/10. Crazy! This is very well suited for a really wide empire, if you can manage the happiness. I settled 6 cities, used an engineer for NC and then started to spam wonders to complement my religion, I picked Faith/Culture from Gold, then founded Tithe, Monasteries, Divine Inspiration and Defender of the Faith. My religion was so stronk in the end, only Polandball was more stronk, we also managed to remove kebab

Now onto the juicy bits: The UI is awesome, I think a bit too much. It works like this: You build it on a Hill (which can be a very useful Jungle hill), or, a Hill that has a strategic. Regardless, the culture boost it gets is insane. It works even if the tile is outside of workable range. I think it's worth around 1.5 times the culture output or some such. It's quite spammable and I ended with Full Liberty, Full Aesthetics, Full Rationalism, Full Patronage, 6 in Freedom, 2 in Commerce. However:

There is a bug if you build a road/railroad on the tile that has the UI, because you will get the culture boost again

I'm sure it's been mentioned already.

Lastly, I was invaded by a neighbor at one point, and my Spears held them off. I so happened to have hit Civil Service at that point to break out the UU. The shoe was on the other foot, as the flanking bonus, damage bonus if adjacent unit is wounded AND the bonus against mounted units made it oneshot a Horseman. Really good support unit

Thanks, the third one looks nice :) Hopefully it doesn't look too much like India in-game.

Thanks, I will take all of this into account when updating Dusan :) Not sure if I can fix all of this, though.

Spoiler :

Matthias Corvinus was the King of Hungary during the late Middle Ages. Being the son of the Regent of Hungary, John Hunyadi, Matthias Corvinus' family became the target of the contemporary King of Hungary after Hunyadi's death. Despite this, Hunyadi's followers managed to gain ground in Hungary after the King's sudden death. Matthias Corvinus proved himself to be an able king, establishing a professional mercenary army (the largest in Europe), utilising Gunpowder. Hungary once more rivalled Louis the Great's Hungary in size. Another significant aspect of his reign was his patronage of the Renaissance Arts and Sciences, attracting many learned men to Hungary, becoming the first nation outside Italy to do so. He created one of the largest libraries in Europe, the Bibliotheca Corvinus. At the end of his reign, he ruled a European superpower, though some of his achievements were lost due to the incompetence of his successors.

- +2% Science per Corvina Codex (max +40%)
- Max. +100% Great Person Generation from Contests
- Not sure how many civs should meet a City-State, I triggered one at 3 of 8 players
- AI will have a 33% chance of sacrificing any alive GP for a Codex, will not sacrifice Great Prophets
- AI will randomly gain a Black Army Promotion every 5 turns, based on the Era they are in
- Budapest replaced by Pskov

Thanks. Yeah there should be two decisions. No events though.

Great! Events are always appreciated, but as long as there's Decisions, I'm satisfied :).

Also the UI stuff for contests and the specialisation of the Black Army is a nice touch.
