African Units

Thank you for the kind words everyone! I have another update in the works that includes an African grenadier and some modern units, however exam week is fast approaching so the odds are that this update will take some time to put together…

On the EDU note, I hope that mod hasn’t died, that’s the mod that got me into making these units in the first place!:sad:

Well if it has died, there are loads of people who could easily build on what has already been completed :)
 
Indeed. But I bet the waiting is now on what Firaxis comes up with by the BtS expansion.
 
One last update!
I just uploaded six new units in the database! See the first post! Sadly, this will be the last units from me for a while since I don’t have internet away from my campus (it’s a bit too expansive).
Nonetheless I hope someone will be able to use them. Please comment on them and tell me if there is anything wrong.

PS. I also updated the African Maceman and gave him a shield.
I noticed that I did practically all of the units for African civs!!:king: Except that blasted SAM infantry! :mad: Oh well. Maybe next time.
 
Fantastic units! I really like the King's African Rifles. I do hope Total Realism adds them. After watching The Last King of Scotland (movie about Idi Amin, who began his military career in the KAR) I was looking at photos and miniatures of the KAR and you got them just right. :goodjob:
 
Thank you for the kind words everyone! :) I’ll get an internet connection in a week or two when I come back on campus for a couple of summer courses, I’ll try to work on something till then.

Thank you for all the kind words again! Of course many probably noticed my posts around the unit graphics forum but I’m back on campus with a connection.

@Healz I have one more last bunch of African units to upload, mainly that SAM infantry and a couple of more medieval and ancient units I want to make. However, lately I have been pretty busy (I’m taking a course that tries to combine a year of classes into 6 weeks! :suicide:) so the update will probably be this weekend or the following Monday.
After that this update, I’ll probably move on to some other units.
I’m trying to collect references for maybe some Meso-American (Mainly Aztec and Inca) or East Asian units (Mainly Chinese and Korea with some Japanese and South-east Asian throw in for flavour). I have the medieval area figured out almost for both of them, so we will see how that goes.

Wow sounds great with more units after the african ones! I'm looking forward to a complete EDU mod :D You're going to have a nice spot on the credits too
 
I updated the first page with five new units! I nalso updated Medieval Calvary with a new shield as well!
These will be the last African units from me from a while. After this as I stated in another post I’m going to try to work on some Meso American or East Asian units.
I have more then enough references for Asia and the Aztecs, but does anyone have any pictures of Inca style military? I’m having trouble hunting some down…:hmm:
Anyhow, please download the units and tell me if anything is wrong.
