A short story:
The screaming masses launched themselves upon the guards at the palace gate in Ankara viciously hacking them to pieces.
The gate burst open under the press of the crowd and the streamed into the palace grounds of Ankara.
The remaining guards were picked off while many others surrendered. The mob threw open the doors of the palace and rushed up the massive flight of stairs to the chamber of the Sultan.
When the doors burst open in his bedroom Mehmad immediately opened fire. Several of the mob went down with blood streaming from their wounds. But the sheer weight of numbers found him bound and lying on the floor a few minutes later.
A man approached. Sultan Mehamd you are found guilty of crimes against the people of the Ottoman Empire. You have lead us into disastrous defeat and ruined our nation.
He paused and looked coldly at him I hereby declare the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire and strip you of all powers. I declare the founding of the Turkish Repebulic!
Mehamed stared in shock who do you think you are! he sputtered
The man smirked I am Ataurak Kemal. It is the last name you will ever hear.
He leveled and pistol at Mehmads head and fired.
