I don't know if anyone's posted this before, but I've managed to get it running on a couple of older machines by increasing the VGA aperture from 64Mb to 256Mb in the BIOS. Luckily both systems have 1Gb RAM.

Can't get it working on my main though - CTD at the XML load, and none of the "fixes" work for me (UK DVD).

Hmmm...interesting as I have had success by reducing the AGP aperture FROM 256 to 128 and in one instance 64.

apg aperture is just how much RAM is saved for the video card, techies recommend 50% of the ram on the video card; so if you have 128mb onboard on the vidcard, set aperture to 64mb; given that you have enough ram on your main system.

I've seen tests round the net stating that usually 64 mb aperture is recommended, regardless of the amount of system ram. In any case 256 MB seems like a lot.

All I can say is that both systems had graphics glitches on 64Mb, which disappeared after changing the aperture to 256Mb. 128Mb may be enough but I haven't tested - I'll try it later on one. Also it will depend on your video card. These are both older cards without much onboard memory (64Mb I think). Perhaps 64+64 isn't enough.
