All Nine Revealed?

When they were discussing the removal of the Pueblo, wasn't it said that this was during development of Vanilla CiV, not BNW? I seem to recall them bring up Pope and the Pueblo immediately after a pre-pre alpha demo of CiV, but I may be wrong. On another note, for everyone asking for a Native American civ, how exactly will they fall under the themes of trade/culture that most other civs in this expansion pack have been designed around. I imagine the Sioux as potential a cavalry based warmongering civ with perhaps a tendency for nomadicism or rapid expansion, which isn't exactly relevant to the focus of this expansion. I suppose the Zulu don't relate to the theme of the expansion that much either, but I'd argue that the Zulu are more of a classic civ, having been in 3 main installments, as opposed to the Sioux, who have been in one.

The slide they showed of Popey had the BNW logo on it.

And the fact that they said the Pueblo were perfect for Brave New World

You are very wrong. Popé was brought up a few months ago, after we already knew the expansion pack's title and actually had a couple people guess the Pueblo as a new civ. Also, there were plenty of Native American tribes that traded, especially after Europeans came. That's how some tribes had guns before they ever saw a white person.

Better yet: let's add Singapore!

I think Vietnam would be such a better choice than the Sioux, with a long, proud history of resistance, a plausible female leader (always a positive; they were sisters even) and easy to figure out UU's (Vietcong anyone?) they would be a good addition. I honestly don't think North America needs another native american civ when there are other regions crying out for representation

However, I have to say... You say as if N.A was a small place. I mean, some of the possible NA natives are as far from the Iroquois as Vietnam is far from India and Japan (stretching a little). IF we call for a "under-represent" region, native NA and sub-Saharan Africa are way more in need of civs compared to SE Asia.

When it comes to native American populations, the same goes for Amazon rainforest and its possible civs: such a large and underrepresented area.

I'd laugh if we got Monaco rather than Venice. With the tourism focus, however, it wouldn't be completely out of the blue...

Yeah... Yeah it would - Although A UB of Casinos and a UA of Tax shelter would be different design wise. I hate the idea of Venice but frankly unless the alternate starts between Por and Zul you can write them off. Even then sadly I think it's maybe a 1% chance of people like the Visigoths instead.

Because they act as a selling point. The larger market finds more appeal in civs they are familiar with. Look at reddit's civ subreddit and you find a bunch of people complaining about the lack of Canada.

I'm a Chinese Canadian and I find Canada to be very important.
I'm not even nationalistic.
It just bothers me that Canada is more than half of North America yet isn't represented in a game about civilizations.
Most of the people here are bums only concerned about legalizing illegal substances.
Hate the place and everything is overpriced.
Still want a Canadian civ though.

Canada just covers a lot of land, its population is only 34 million which is 3 million less than California.
