All Quiet on the Civ Front

Let me respond with obligatory Ottoman demand.
YouTube and Reddit already has that covered. :p
But I guess one more wouldn't hurt.

I am quietly confident that our next Alt leader with be for Egypt, especially since no Civ has adopted Yellow and Purple (the reverse to Trajan's Rome)

For Civs I'm hedging my bets on Maya, Inca, Portugal, Sweden, Ottomans, Mali, Vietnam, Tonga for the next expansion, if we believe it to be the last. But I am hoping for third (So then we can also have Morocco, Carthage, Canada, Byzantium and more!)

However I'm more inclined to believe that this is a small DLC they are working on; which I think could be the Ottomans (and maybe Byzantium) by popular demand. If not, then they must be getting the basics of the expansion done to create some nice gameplay footage for the anniversary announcement.

If the Civs in the next expansion were all present in my wishlist, I will be satisfied. I don't really care which Civ the alternate leader belongs to, as long as it's not American.

Modern Civ leaders look stupid in ancient times, Ancient Civ leaders look stupid in modern times. It balances it out. :p

I'm backing:

  • The Maya
  • The Inca
  • Ethiopia
  • Mali
  • The Ottomans
  • The Byzantines
  • The Iroquois
  • Babylon
  • Carthage
  • Austria
For me it's:

Danemark
Laos
Liberia

Sweden
Olmec
Uganda
Romania
Canada
Ethiopia

Carthage
Ottoman
Dacians
Ecuador

TIA

To complete this, Medieval leaders look stupid in both modern and ancient times.

Why Liberia and Ecuador, might I ask? Who would lead the Olmecs? What would the Dacian leader speak?

I needed those letters, not Pascal, and for the langage I'd say C++.

Honestly don't care what the Dacians speak, they'd make an excellent addition with Trajan as the Roman leader. Traits centered on trade and mountains plus a nice swordsman replacement with the Dacian Falx could make them a fun civ to play.

The Dacians would make a horrible civ. We just know too little about them, even disregarding that their language is virtually unattested. Even Thrace would be a better choice, and we don't know much more about them. The non-Slavic, non-Greek peoples of Eastern Europe are just too poorly attested to be worth including; the only Eastern European civ from that era that I could see (and would like to see) being included would be the Goths.

What I really want is a Wallachian civ to play as Vlad the Impaler for Halloween. What? He has a big personality :D
Weren't they around in the time of the Ottomans? Maybe instead of a "Byzantium and Ottomans DLC pack" we get a "Wallachian and Ottoman DLC Pack"? heh...
