Then they should have changed the shape of the glass. I wondered if it had to do with ratings--Catherine sinisterly swirling red wine may have bumped the rating to T (despite wine and tobacco being in the game as luxuries...Poundmaker holds a pipe, but it's not lit and he doesn't smoke it, so...).
I must ask, does the radio silence of Firaxis and what I interpret as a lack of interest for their game kill your desire to play the game just as much as me? Knowing a bit about what the future holds for the game would do wonders for my personal hype.
Everyone is different, some things that annoy the hell out of people are the very things others love.
It's human nature to find opinions that confirm your own preferences and dismiss those that disagree with you as outliers or a vocal minority. I'm not sure if we can know what the majority think, and even if we did. does it really matter? For most of the things I read that annoy others about some aspect of Civ 6, I'm not too fussed about. There are bits I don't find ideal but on the whole I love it, same goes for all the iterations apart from Civ IV. That said there are lots of people for whom Civ IV is the best, good for them is what I say.
There was an update on July 19th adding a much desired cross-platform multiplayer functionality and FXS continues to update their social media accounts with Civ VI content every 3~5 days. While there hasn't been any news concerning "new" content, I hardly consider this to be "radio silence" or that the game is dead.
Personally, I'm happy for the break in patches/updates. It gives me time to leisurely play the game and more importantly do my own modding. Also, let's not forget there is a forthcoming port to the Nintendo Switch. In any event, while I'm unsure of another patch before year's end, I'd be surprised if there is not an x-pac announcement by then.

The regular civ 6 content on facebook and twitter every 3-5 days are just fillers. Not related to future content. It feels like a kick in the balls most of the time. Firaxis PR is so awfull

Which is why I explicitly wrote that there wasn't any news concerning "new" content. My point being, if the game was already "dead" or if FXS doesn't "care" about it's fanbase then why bother posting on social media at all? They are at least engaging the community on some level, perhaps not to the extent or with the content some would want, but engaging fairly regularly nonetheless.
I have no doubt FXS is working on amazing stuff for a second x-pac that they'll reveal when it's ready so I'm not even remotely concerned that we don't get a continuous supply of new info. Not to mention that I've spent a fair amount of time between playing and modding and still don't feel like I've explored half of what the current state of the game has to offer.
They changed it to water before release, which is disappointing, since she just looked so sinister with that wine in the First Look. But yeah, apparently CdM is so snobby she drinks water from a champagne flute.
Maybe staying quiet is in their best interest. The 4000+ post DLC 5 Anticipation thread shows how wound up we fanatics get when know about releases ahead of time.

If you're trying to sell a product, do you want people worked up in anticipation about it before hand, or not? On the one hand, buzz is great. On the other hand, buzz based on non-facts could lead to disappointment when the product is out. On the third hand, anybody on this forum has a high likelihood of buying their product buzz or no buzz.
Looks like there is a new date set for nintendo switch event. September 14th. I dont expect anything good from it as a pc player. But rather have it over with. The civ 6 announcement on the nintendo switch. Performance increases might be helpfull for pc players to make civ 6 playable on an inferior platform.

Oh no... I think there is going to be some religious combat between "Pursuitism" and "Kingolicism" ...any room for "Avianity"? I predicted Kampungs and the Netherlands!
