All Quiet on the Civ Front

No! I hated that feature so much! I greatly prefer Esc or the X (Exit) button.
That feature sounds obnoxious from my perspective, too. And I've never played Endless Legion. Besides, many games out there already have a usage for right-clicking in their game mechanics for other things.

It works out pretty well in Endless Legend. They built their UI around it well enough that you don't need to right-click to perform any other actions. I'm not saying either the right-click as exit or UI is great, but they got it to work for what they're doing.

One way in which it worked out really well is that they can have pop-ups appear at the start of your turn, and you can just right-click out of them and it'll put it off to the side so you can get back to it when you want. So you can have three important things pop-up that you really should handle that turn, but you don't have to hunt for an X button to dismiss each one.

It's good when you just want to check on a status screen or something really quick to. Open it, look at it, right-click to close. It really speeds up the game.

I really wish people didn't bring up Tuesday and Thursday being the days Firaxis make announcements the high majority of the time. Won't leave nothing but disappointment :undecide:

You know how in Endless Legend you right click and it sends you back to the previous screen?

Firaxis should just STEAL THAT. All companies should. It's just too good to only be in one game. It should be a gaming convention, right-click always sends you back a screen.

I'm so tired of going all the way to the top left corner to click the 'x' then immediately going all the way to the top right corner to click another 'x'. Really. So. Tired.
But you can't rightclick your mouse on an iphone or ipad, so that's not gonna happen. Better to click 1000 times to do simple things, right?

Some of us just bound their next action and escape keys to extra mouse buttons... :)

I think we've all figured out you believe that Civ6 was designed for the iOS. We get it.

I guess no news today. Oh well. we are not starved for attention or anything. It's not like we need a hit. Please.

IIRC you right click to dismiss those side notifications in Civ 6 without reading them.
Yes, but it won't delete the last in a list between turns. :nono: (Why couldn't gossip appear on the side like that instead of taking up my whole screen...between turns?)

Next Tuesday is my birthday Firaxis!!! :bday:
I'd like a present.

Okay, well it didn't happen today so it should not ever be a problem, right .. right

I've Y bounded to an extra mouse button so I don't have to press Y to to toggle yields. I also have Enter bound to another additional mouse button, very handy.

It sucks to have to move to curse down to the bottom right hand of the screen and click "Next turn" every turn LOL.

Okay, let me enlighten you with an expansion related dream myself.

Basically, I dreamt I pulled an expansion box from an alternate dimension where it was already released and rifled through the handbook (yeah, like this was the year 2000). I remember there being some great new feature about empire building that also somewhat reworked loyalty. Also, 5 new leaders and at least 5 new civs (...I never got to turn that page to see if there were more).

I remember new alt leaders for England, France, Russia and Japan. However, some were shared so I think the alt leader for England also was one for Russia (which doesnt make any sense?) and France also was shared with something. I dont Remember the remaining ones.
New civs I remember were Portugal, Carthago, Kievan Rus and Ottomans. The only leader I actually remember by name and has the strongest memory whatsoever was Henry the Navigator for Portugal. He also was on the cover of the whole thing and kinda the poster child.

Of all this, I gonna only stick with Henry the Navigator. :D

Oh, I almost forgot. Another of the alt leaders was Bismarck.

This was a rather eurocentric expansion dream.

Edit: I just remembered, the English alt leader might have been Alfred the Great, though now him being shared with Russia makes even less sense. :D
