I appended today this last line to my 'dates' table. Based on my Patch log file.Rise & Fall was released February 8th, not March 8th.
I think it's a little too early to expect an expansion announcement. I feel like the activity we're seeing is indicative of either a patch or a DLC.
That was fast! When I saw that the update was just 7 minutes ago, I was sure I'd be first.2kqa_a was updated.
Strangeness: 2kqa_c was the next one in the sequence, but they skipped it. Since c was only introduced into the sequence last week, and updated twice in a row, it may represent some kind of offshoot or parallel development.

Although Persia is a DLC Civ, so it's unlikely, I'd like to see a non-Achaemenid leader. Some Sassanid, or Nader Shah, for example.Have we reached any consensus on which Civ is most likely to get a second leader?
The ones I’ve heard bandied around are Egypt, France, China, England, Rome, Russia, America and Germany.
(Not counting Spain’s possible Isabella.)

My birthday is December 11, but I'd rather have the announcement sooner than that. Maybe they could have an awesome First Look on my birthday instead.Rise & Fall was released February 8th, not March 8th.
Announced November 28th.
If this pattern is a thing we should expect a new expansion announcement around December 11th or December 18th (both Tuesdays)
Where's my Maya!?How about the AD 1500 DLC pack featuring the Ottomans, Incas and Portugal, plus a new scenario.
Can you conquer the New World before the Turks conquer the Old World?
Why Jeanne d'Arc, might I ask?Give me boudicca, joan d’arc and Augustus and firaxis could sell it as an expansion.
Do the Sami have notable historical leaders? If Firaxis was based in Scandinavia, maybe they would have chance of getting in, but they seem unlikely.Personally, now that arguing Norway's case is no longer needed, I find myself instead arguing the case of the Sámi, but I'm not sure I expect them for this mystery expansion/DLC, or even this game. Certainly not expecting them above fan favourites like the Ottomans, Byzantium or Portugal. All I can do is hope.

There are notable candidates in terms of Sámi history, I feel, but there has never been anyone who led all of the Sámi people. But then again, we do have Gandhi, who never led India.Do the Sami have notable historical leaders? I'm conflicted with that, since that's my birthday, but I definitely don't want to wait that long.

Best choice, in my opinion, would be Elsa Laula Renberg, a very active and important Sámi activist during her time, who chaired the first Sámi assembly, founded the first Sámi association and argued tirelessly for Sámi rights, during a time in which the Sámi languages were banned in schools, Norwegian authorities were actively trying to Norwegianise "their" Sámi, and Sámi women in Sweden were sterilised by the "state institute for racial biology."
Where's my Maya!?![]()
I deliberately left the Maya out, because they’re one of the ones I really want, along with Babylon, Carthage, Byzantium and the Celts (Gaul).
I figure the more I like a given civ, the less likely we are to get it this time.
Just my (extremely bad) luck.
Wow!I'm surprised forced sterilization was practiced in Norway at one point. I was used a lot back in the early 1900s in America when eugenics was popular....
