Excellent, but I wonder what war they have planned, Piffle would be my guess. I don't see how we can be of much help to each other so try not to tell them our Loco plans. Probably the best we can do is a promise of mutual non-aggression.

Basically we have to choose sides now - aloha or piffle. I'd say Aloha, because there is a decent chance that piffle is just out to screw us and fake an alliance to split the aloha-innovia alliance. A three-way alliance is pretty much out and a piffle-aloha war seems unavoidable.

We need to decide quickly!

Well handled Theo but I don't see the need to rush, of all the teams we can best afford to wait things out and as other teams situations become more urgent our support will only become more valuable.

I am strongly against the full disclosure or open diplomacy idea. That would irrevocably tie us to Aloha and deprive us of any freedom to manipulate to situation. In return all we gain is Aloha as an ally which we can probably get cheeper anyway. They sound anxious for friends, a bad sign.

For much the same reasons I am against any embargo but we can certainly honor Aloha's request not to re-trade techs they trade to us.

I don't really see why it is necessary to gift Guilds. We already made plans for the tech trade and I think its due to happen in a few turns. However Aloha has been fair and trustworthy in the past I'm not too strongly against.

PS just thinking out loud, but if Epsilon attacks Loco and we are sly with Piffle it could be the world against Epsilon with us leading the coalition, so once again, no way to full disclosure.

Actually, that thought came to me as well while chatting - we could remain loyal to aloha and still make piffle believe that we've switched to their side. That wouldn't allow for full disclosure though, so I am against that as well. This idea would put us in the lead, if we could pull it off.

Piffle and Epsilon have been very quite of late, so we are going to change this by opening up some talks and throwing some things around and to see how they react. Hopefully they will open up a bit and give us an insight into their thinking. We will of course keep you informed and not make any deals without discussing it with you first as we are fully commited to our partnership.
