Alternate Timeline Building Experiment, v1.0

Oh, what a fun update. I did pretty well. :)

Even if I am still behind technologically, at least I'm not like the primitive and uncouth Europeans.

;)

In 1940 AD, a celebration breaks out in New Aarut as the last pockets of Panto resistance collapse and the natives, after centuries of death and warfare, sue for peace. The peace, however, turns out to be in name only, and a way for the natives to continue their war effort without risk of more official armed incursion into their lands. The Panto Confederacy, weak though it is, turns its efforts from overt conflict to indirect industrial sabotage and political assassinations of New Aarut leaders.

All of this comes to a climax in the winter of 1941 AD. The resistance (the "Sons of Panto", as they call themselves) leadership personally performs a daring attack on the political capitol of New Aarut, burning the building to the ground. Unknown to them, the governor's son is caught in the blaze and killed. This sparks a nation-wide manhunt for the "terrorist butchers". After a few weeks of terror for the natives (the Aarut governor is not exactly happy with them, and goes to extremes in his search), the New Aarut manage to track down the leaders to the Lantanist Temple from the ancient Mantehauta days. The troops demand entry, but the priests in the temple, taking the lessons of dignified disobedience of their High Priest to heart, refuse to surrender the men to them. In a move that sends shock waves through the Lantan community, the governor orders the temple burned to the ground, with the leaders of the resistance and the priests along with it.

Lantan followers all across the Americas explode in outrage at the destruction of such a holy site, and the murder of its priests. The High Priest of Lantan declares a great "second crusade" against the Aarut, and the entire continent is plunged into chaos as the Aarut frantically struggle to quell a full-blown insurrection across a majority of their colonial territory. Some of the more independent Suraji American states use this as an excuse to move into Aarut land to "bring stability", further muddying the waters.

Specific orders will come later, but I was thinking that this might set the stage for a cascade effect towards a great world war that has been alluded to in the past few updates. Let me know if you think this is an appropriate manner for doing so :)

Okay! This turn looks like fun!

Firs off, is the Great Washagon Confederation a country, or a colony?

Next, I'll get my first bit of orders in for my far eastern people.

The Waeluta and Maeluta protectorates will both decide, together, that the Suraji are having too much of an influence on them, and destroying their society and culture. They wont put up with it much longer, and declare their desire to remove Suraji influence over their people. If the Suraji government doesn't allow it, they will start to protest. If the government cracks down on them, they will declare war on the nation of Suraji, and begin a guerrilla war campaign, using their knowledge of arctic survival to their benefit to keep on the move, using the cold as a psychological weapon against their enemy. (The Waeluta peoples have always resisted incorporation into the Takajiri/Suraji nation, they now see this "protectorate" thing as the foreigners trying to take over, though slowly.) If they succeed in their war, they might combine and form their own nation (doubtful, but possible) but if the Suraji influence is lifted without any violence on their part, they will go on to being their own nations, much more organized then just being the tribes that they were before. They may adopt a Suraji style government (they've been influenced by them for a while now, so they will take what they have learned, but they don't want to be influenced any more.)

The Great Asylat Protectorate will also detest Suraji influence, though they wont go as far as fighting them. Instead, they will try to take advantage of the situation and exploit the Suraji, learning their technology, their government styles, etc. to try and modernize as much as possible.

I'll get back with my European/American cultures later, when I think of what I want them to do.

Thanks :salute:

Looks like there will never be peace in north America :(

-> OK about next era, It turns out I don’t have a lot of details to add. Basically, there's just what it says at the end of the update, plus this experimental spending point system which is entirely optional and subject to player approval:

These points basically represent effective industrial output, with a little bit of other things thrown in. NPC countries are added for comparison.

Varakan Empire: 18 Points

4 Points on Naval Upgrades (to modernize our smaller naval forces)
6 Points on Industry (mainly oil and exploratory mining, upgrade factories to mass produce various military things)
2 Points into Manzuru (to help them modernize their military)
5 Points into Technology (Medicine, Plastics, Physics and Aeronautics[mainly on increasing engine power and early experiments in jet propulsion])
1 Point into training our massive infantry force (focus on mechanized and armored doctrines)

Continue our advances and funding in the various sciences with major backing by the military. Goals for our land army include new training regiments for all the types of soldiers focusing on modern mechanized and armored warfare tactics and strategy. Our airforce is to be worked towards being one of the largest in the world, with large bombers and fast efficient and long range fighter/interceptors. Our navy is to begin building aircraft carriers for force projection over the worlds oceans. Begin mass producing medium and light tanks for mass armor columns in the event of war.

In India we will begin using for the first time a new form of soldier in our army. The paratrooper elite battalions who are the creme of the crop in the military and are known as the Fist of God among the soldiers and enemies. To be feared and recognized by black uniforms and special sub-machine guns, they drop from the sky out in mass behind enemy lines and use their effectiveness to break the enemies strong holds and supply lines. They are taught to fear nothing other than defeat, death is a greater honor than defeat. These elite paratroopers will be used to great effect in Grajaj, using their speed and ability to reach any location in the country to break them into smaller groups and allow the main army to encircle and defeat them one by one.

We will support Marzhung militarily in a campaign against Sezvry if they choose to accept.

Expand our Sala'Varaka colony and begin sending more colonists their to build it up as an important resource for the empire. The major port city will be a major naval base for operations into the Pacific and Indochina areas.

Begin a government funded construction of a new capital city in central Iran, we will use modern city planners to make it an efficient and large scale project and build/help people from poorer regions build homes in the city. (Think like the capital of Brazil) With plans to make the capital the grandest and most luxurious city on the planet, with major airports, highway systems and a major industrial industrial section. One of the first buildings will be a huge museum/university that will be the national university of Varaka, including vassals, and will be a center for all our academic goals and expertise.

Thanks very much! Although, the points system was meant to be an optional extra, and I'd still like to know about your overall plans etc as usual… Although I guess I can work that out from what you spend points on.

Provisional deadline = (edit) 72 hours from now.

I'm willing to put this back if anyone needs more time, just post to let me know you intend to post something :)

Also, I note a lack of response to the update... It seems to be the more I write, the more people get bored, or are scared away  Anyway, I will finish this, even if its all NPC'ed by the end :)

(I forgot to reply to this!) Its somewhere between the two, you could say an 'autonomous region', with its own local laws etc, but with Aarut military bases and stuff.
