Alternative Timeline Experiment

I second Karalysia. All of the Britannic Isles belong to the Alquari, long live Albion the Golden!

All the world belon- you know what, i'll let you guys figure that out for yourselves.

Ok just kidding, you're going to have to wait tomorrow for the update. Editing this map is way too hard with MS Paint(especially since you have to manually erase text), so I've gotta get Photoshop downloaded and installed. We're still waiting for two more sets of orders anyways so it isn't too bad.

Have you tried to do it with 2 layers? That way, you can have the names on the second layer and don't have to erase the text manually, you'd just have to go to the 2nd layer and move the text.

OOC: What do you mean "Orders"? There's nothing to order. I have absulotly nothing. No army, no ecomony, not even a nation.
Did you even read the first post? You're on the map, you have your own colored area, and I've given you points. You can see how many you have on the second post.

Unsure if i have spending points or not,, but spend them all on economy..

For the time being writing a story gets you an extra point(only one extra point per turn though), and starting in one of the cradles gets you 3 extra points until a certain point. Therefore, starting cultures inside a cradle will initially receive 4 spending points, and others will receive 2 spending points.

Reading comprehension is your friend :D

Why thankyou Masada

Given the fact my stats had not been edited into the opening posts, I wasn't sure if i'd need to wait after the update or not.

Neither have mine :run:

I'll edit you guys in after the update. Abaddon it would be nice if you could go into a little more detail about your spending(ie. how you want your economy to develop). Thanks.

1. Turn the river into a grand highway. Any particularly hard to navigate locations will have pack animals on hand to drag the "ships" up by walking along the shoreline (ships? reed vessels, canoes etc, whatever we have in this age)

2. Micro-loans. Have a fund availaible so that if someone wants to set up their own business, we, the council of leaders will support it.. simple little things like buying tools, small quanities of animals etc to get them on their feet and developing. Through this the nation is bound together as we are owed a debt by our citizens.. usually uncalled upon, but in great need.. who knows (greater responce to leveeing)

3. Grand Irrigation works. Along the river, major developments will take place to ensure the surrounding land is well irrigated and these waterways are maintained.

4. Development of guarded market places. Walled market places ensure trades have a safe place to trade, and thus will be drawn to us.

Civver, you bad, lazy, lazy man :shake:. You dun gone AWOL.

Round 2: Tensions Rising

As the age of civilized life began to advance, several cultures around the globe found themselves at odds with other nomadic tribes in the area, who have organized together in order to better defend themselves.

Starting in Europe, on the island of Britain, the Alquari spent much of the past few decades using their menial military forces to enforce control over the unorganized, nomadic masses around them. This was a surprisingly successful campaign, and under the guise of a new kingdom "Albion" they have established the largest area of influence out of anyone on the globe. Of course, this does not come without consequence. Disgruntled by the loss of their house's power, the Farrmarch house broke off and established their own kingdom in Southwestern Britain. Several nomads have also migrated North over the past few years, into the harsh tundras of northern Britain, establishing themselves as the Pictael Tribes. They have banded together in hopes of resisting the growing sphere of influence the rulers of Albion seem to have been obtaining for themselves. A form of sailing was also developed by the new kingdom shortly after its foundation, and many predict it will greatly help their ability to run this new territory.

On the continent itself, the Dastidians on the Iberian peninsula have not been looking to gain more land, instead focusing on internal development. Among their inventions a system of Pottery was invented, drawing on the ideas of their ancestors a few centuries earlier who formulated a system of travel called The Wheel. Several dirt roads have been created within their domain and the economy has flourished. Among other news they have begun to look for protection from outside threats, and a military training system for their people has begun.

Along the northern border of the continent, Tyrannium hasn't accomplished much. The Valli, on the other hand, to the east of them have discovered a system of Bronze Working, and thus their military is expected to gain power. Like their far neighbors to the Southwest, they too have focused on internal development, most notably their economy, which has been flourishing.

As we move East we observe the Lorkren tribes, who have joined their western European cousins in their entrance into a Bronze Age, which is expected to help their every-growing military, now at 6,000 men, soon enough. They have not been focused much on expansion, and instead on internal development. Their economy has seen some improvement.

Down south, we can see the ever growing culture of Nalam, who have tried to forcefully expand into the regions around them, which met with limited success, and a hostile tribe of nomads forming in the Balkans region. Their culture has fortunately helped keep some of their territory under Nalam influence, and with the discovery of Pottery it won't be long before their economy begins to grow even more powerful.

And in the Middle East region, a new culture to the history of the world has emerged over the past century or so. The Kratorun have established themselves in the Northern Mesopotamian region as a particularly barbaric group of peoples, eating the flesh of their own kin. The leaders began measures to increase their area of influence, but it only met with limited success, and the Turstish tribes arising in Eastern Anatolia.

Down south at the heart of the Tigris and Euphrates the Armok tribes continue to do well for themselves, gaining more land peacefully and not facing many challenges from other tribes in the area. Their culture continues to unify their people as one, and measures over the past decades have increased the military capability of these tribes. Several able-bodied men have been recruited to the ranks of warriors and a select few were placed to police the area.

And as we move west into the African continent we get to the true center of this world of rising civilizations. The Legelian tribes have established themselves as the dominant traders in the world, and their implementation of trading has allowed their merchants to reach further than every before. Several people from surrounding areas have emigrated to the Legelian sphere of influence to take advantage of these new "economic opportunities", giving them the highest population in the world. Their economy is only expected to get better with the new discovery of Pottery. As we move south on the Nile we find that the Akalazi tribes have been expanding peacefully, reaching as far East as the Red Sea. They have also joined the ranks of cultures entering their Bronze Age, and could easily become a dominant military power in the world.

In the Far East, along the Indus River, tribes in the area have had enough of the excessive militarism of the Naagan, and have organized under the guise of the Aeryans. They currently hold portions of Indus river north of the Naagan tribes and have no intentions of falling under their influence. As for the southern tribesmen themselves, their culture and Indus-based religion have further unified their people, and new economic capability has attracted some from surrounding areas to emigrate peacefully.

Several cultures have also recently sprung up along the Yellow River in East Asia. The first of these, tribes known as the Fushigida, have attempted to extent their influence by force. This had led to some disgruntled nomads to settle down along the Western edge of the river in order to protect themselves. They call themselves the Laox.

On the extreme Eastern edge of the river, bordering the Pacific ocean, the Xzauk have established themselves as the dominant traders in the area, attracting several peoples from nearby lands. Due to their economic pursuits, the Xzauk have attained the technologies of both Sailing and The Wheel.

In the South Pacific another new culture have come into play. The Tuomalikani have organized and established themselves as a dominant power in their area. Their people have unified effectively under their culture, and have attained the technology of Mysticism.

Meanwhile, isolated from nearly 99% of humans on the globe, Atlantis in Australia has continued to move towards a democracy. The rights earned by members of the tribe are unrivaled anywhere in the world, and become more and more unified by the day.

Across the world in the Western Hemisphere, the Bystinian tribes have continued to expand their culture into surrounding area, effectively expanding peacefully. Their increased culture has done wonders for their level of unity, and it seems clear that they are second to none in the world in that aspect.

Finally, a few hundred miles south of the Bystinians the Maarstai have emerged. Showing no signs of over-eagerness or over willingness to expand, this culture has developed at a healthy rate in their relative isolation. Their location places them at odds with hot summers, a challenge not quite felt by other tribes. Nevertheless, their economy and cultural unity have slowly developed in the few centuries of their existence.

OOC: To do -

-add new NPC cultures to the stats listing
-add update links to one of the first posts

Also I'm getting kind of scared that I hardly have too many stats and info to fit on one post. I wish I had reserved more posts. Anyways everything should be good for you guys to do your orders now. I have made a whole new map in Photoshop with layers and everything so I can update it 10,000x easier. Several of your colors and borders may have changed slightly since the first update, even if you aren't listed as gaining or losing land. Sorry I'm not very good at being accurate as far as copying goes. I tried =(.

Akalazi spending orders:
Spend 2 on improving th economy my building more markets And central areas to trade in.
Spend 1 on culture by building more temples and shrines to the gods
Spend 1 on political to move even closer to a monarchy
Spend 1 on influencing the surrounding tribes to join and if they don't make them by force
Spend 2 on military to Improving the warriors skills on archery and horseback riding

Shouldn't I have 6 points to spend instead of 5?

I'm going to put in some thought before I get to this. I want to write up a story before I issue my point-spending orders, but I'm not sure what direction I want to take this in just yet.
