Did you ever call/need one ? :run: :scared:

I did, only once, 2 days ago. :scared: They didn't take me to the hospital tho. Just gave some shots. Yay.

Oh crap I chose the first one!

I remember one time when I was at my grandmother's house many years ago, I saw this little remote-like device thingy with a big orange button on it. I thought "What does this button do?" and pressed it. It set off a transmitter which broadcasted to the hospital. It wasn't good for my grandmother to rush to the transmitter device to shut it off. My dad sort of yelled at me saying "If you do that again, I will call you Deedee!"

Yeah, it was an accident, but still a funny story

I was a child trying to get a horse into a trailer to take him home after he'd been shod. He leapt off the trailer ramp dragging me with him, and the latch of the trailer ramp caught me across the upper eyelid and eyebrow. I was briefly knocked out, the horse run off up the road, and my parents went mad (I was about 12) as there was blood everywhere and they thought at first I had lost an eye. I still have a lovely scar there.

I have also done something similar to Stylesrj. I was round my grandmother's (she lived in sheltered accommodation) and pulled what I thought was a light switch to turn the light on. As I pulled it I thought, "That's a good idea, to have a long pull cord for a light switch so the old people can pull it without getting out of their chair so they didn't have to walk around in the dark." then a voice came over the emergency intercom asking if she was alright. She answered and said yes - it was her grandchildren playing. I was nearly 30 at the time!

Holy crap, are you ok? What happened?
Well the doctors aren't 100% sure what it was, just assumptions, but i'm ok now.
At 11:30 in the night i started feeling this huge growing pain in my stomach. I took some pills - but that didn't help. The pain was too much so i vomited everything out of my stomach. After that i thought yay, the bad stuff is out.
But things didn't stop there. I started feeling the same growing pain again. There was nothing i could do, no pills worked; again it reached a high-enough level so i vomited again. At this point there was basically nothing left in my stomach. After this i vomited nothing but a few drops of pure stomach acid about 4 more times. So for 3 hours it was only pain -> vomit nothing -> pain -> vomit nothing etc... Things were also starting to get worse, aside from the pain i was also getting some cramps like someone was punching me in the stomach. I couldn't walk since i was to dizzy to do anything so my parents called an ambulance. They arrived in about 10 minutes and a doctor filled this HUGE syringe with about 4 phials of stuff. Injecting all of those in my ass took about 1 minute. :crazyeye: She said if i don't stop vomiting after that i should call again and they will take me to the hospital.
I must've slept for 1 hour, i woke up, vomited again, and fell asleep for another hour.
The whole day yesterday was full of just pain but no vomiting. But since i could walk again i went to the hospital later in the evening because, even tho i took what pills the doctor said, things weren't getting better. At the hospital they ran some blood tests and i had to stay with an IV for about 2 hours. I went home - slept about 12 hours - and woke up today hungry, thirsty but healthy; thank god. :)

The cause: it seems my body had a very violent reaction to something i ate that evening. She said it should have been a normal indigestion but my body had an unusually violent reaction to it.

Oh well, it's over now. :)

Damn man, that sounds really really horrible. Im glad that you are OK now.

I havent been feeling too good lately either, didnt go to work today.
Had a little fever, but its gone now.

Nothing close to the hell you went through, I hate that whole vomiting thing something fierce. Its just the worst, specially the stomach cramp thing, I'd much rather have my ass kicked than being that sick. Being repeatedly punched in the stomach feels better than vomiting.

Oh and no, I havent been in need of an ambulance, ever. But I have been to the Emergency Room a few times (usually after fights), Once the cops took me there. :)

I once broken my arm and my parents had to drive me to hospital, where I stayed for several weeks. Then, a few weeks after getting out I broke the other arm at my grandmother's house and the ambulance was called.

I did on several occasions at work. Somehow people tend to think that an all-included vacation means they have to drink until they board their plane. A lot of those idiots get sick on the way back. And there's also tons of genuine cases of people in need of assistance when the planes land. Paramedics are cool folks to work with!

Who stays at the hospital for several weeks for a simple fracture? Do tell!

Once. I had a pneumonia, though I didn't know this at the time. I had a 40.2 Celsius body temperature and was shivering violently. I don't want to go back to that time.

In December after i went flying trough the forest and wrecked my car. I called the cops tough since somehow i was fine (Well i had a bruise at my knee) and i guess they called an ambulance just out of routine. The paramedic that checked me up was really cute too, so it wasn't so bad i guess.

When they first arrived, me and the guy who came behind me and had stopped were just standing on the road looking at my car lying smashed like 50 meters below the road in the middle of a bunch a trees. When the medic lady came out she ran over to us and asked if we had gotten the driver out....I had a hard time convincing her i was fine....

I'm not sure... if I recall it was greenstick fracture. Having looked on wikipedia, I can only assume I'm remembering the duration incorrectly. :mischief: I was only five at the time.

Owch, I hate snakes what treatment did they give you?

I've never got to ride in an ambulance...:) I did go to the hospital once when I slammed my finger in our front door. I know it doesn't sound bad, but I nearly lost my fingertip, because it was a heavy door slammed very hard.

Wow, that's crazy **** man. How long did it take to recover?

About ten years ago my house was on fire, the ambulance came along with the fire brigade and police. I got out in time.

Approx two years later I was in bed one night and could here my mother calling out to me, she was drunk at the time so I thought she just wanted to ask me some stupid drunk question.
She kept calling and after about five minutes I went out to her. There was blood everywhere, she'd attempted suicide. I called the emergency number and the operator told me what to do, wrap something tight around her wrist to stop the blood. The ambulance came in about 5-10 minutes and took her away.

Nope and God willing I will never see the inside of one either...

...unless it's at a kind of county fair where the local emergency services show their support and have their vehicles on display. :D

Yeah, I OD'd.
