Anyone who wants to invades Mexico?
You can bring it up and try to support a candidate who wants to do that, but I don't think Wilson, nor any other candidate, has a reason to do so? But yeah, if you want that you should try to persuade others.
I propose on behalf of the Socialist Labor party a left alliance with the Socialist Party to secure the strength of American communism.
The communist movement definitely split up the socialist party rather badly; if they were united under a moderate socialist/communist, perhaps they would have beaten Wilson! Regardless, the Socialist Labor party disbanded in the 1920 election and the communist party began in 1924! Perhaps the second wave will take the polls!
With how close the vote is, this is getting exciting. I hope Reimer wins.
Glad you were excited as I was!
this election will decide whether we form a perfect worker's utopia or the corporations oppress us again. comrades, let us hope the former is the path taken!
Unfortunately the communist (psuedo-communist, really. Full on communists come on in 1924) movement failed. However, it seems like you gained quite a pro-communist following with your enthusiasm! You guys should research the upcoming elections and try to outsmart everyone somehow, maybe by messaging me your roleplay ideas or whatever.
Debs will come back and thrash the capitalists back to square one ^_^ . But the consequence of this defeat would be that the two socialist parties will combine into one. The Communists will dominate the politburo for now till Debs returns at least.
Interesting point! You're right!
speaking of which, what will happen if it does end in a tie?
A revote. And if a candidate doesn't receive more than half the votes, the "House' votes on it (meaning I just remake the election with just the two leading candidates).
Partly for gameplay and partly to see what happens. I'm going to be the mysterious voter and vote for Reimer. it hurts so much to vote for a communist president for America but for now expansions needs to settle down. Oh god a communist America, it hurts my soul
Also, why does your RFC look different than mine?? Every person's looks different than mine and I am really confused about it.
I'm glad you decided to vote! You should stick around, Mr. Caterpillar. And my RFC used the Master Map Thread changes that I worked on. It's more accurate, it looks better, and it makes gameplay better.
I just remembered, has the women's bill been passed ? The one which Lockwood had put forth ? If not then now is the time that Communists should uphold gender justice and rub it into the conservative's faces
Lockwood passed it on her third term. That's why she didn't run the election after, because she made dealings with politicians to agree not to run in the next election if they support the womens' suffrage bill.
As to all the anti-communists, communism sucks butterbiscuits in real life but in civ it is very powerful. Once we adopt communism though we will not be able to change back to capitalism until we are table because the switching out of communism causes stability issues.
The Cristo Redentor is built though. No instability nor anarchy from switching civics. Only time we had instability and anarchy from a civic switch was the Civil War. The Cristo Redentor, in the game, is attributed to a radical political movement in California, which is how the Socialist Party managed to so easily change capitalism and free market to public welfare and environmentalism.
Ok I just did a count and the votes are tied between Reimer and Wilson. Now if the ones who votes Socialist change their vote, either candidates can win. However, an alternative exists, if the two parties form a coalition after reaching some agreement on civics. I'm not sure if coalitions have been made in the past or not, but it would be a very dynamic feature if it is included. Also, does it make a difference how big the opposition is ? like if a rival is defeated narrowly or completely. In that case if the rival is still strong and influential it should act accordingly, preventing any change in laws which go against the party's politics. if not then a weak opposition should act like a weak opposition not being able to block any change in laws.
This is an interesting point, and I will work it into my AAR and next election.
Guys, if you want to roleplay as the communists and do actions, such as protesting the election, going on union strikes, or attempting to assassinate the president, feel free to do that in the posts! Likewise, some Demies can roleplay the Red Scare and start isolating communist voters, etc. I take every post into consideration.
