1200 - I assess the situation. Why is Washington building a Cathedral when they have 4 happy, 4 contents, so even growing to size 12 will not put them in disorder? I switch them to Horseman, to upgrade to the Knight when we get Chivalry(which I will research right after we get Theology in a turn) and Leonardo's. Russia has more territory and we have a bigger border with them, so I will move on them first. And their only two sources of iron are very near the two places I had already planned on attacking, their capital and the front.
1210 - As mentioned in last turn, Theology discovered. San Francisco switched to Sistine Chapel.
1220 - Optimized Seattle so Leo's Workshop is done in 7 turns instead of 9, it has a shortage but that's fine because it's at max size and has the granary filled up, by the time it loses a pop point Leo's will be finished.
1230 - Nothing important
1240 - Started FP in Gonzor but I really doubt it'll ever get done.
1250 - Sun Tzu's finished in whatever city was building it(Boston I think). Switched Gonzor to Courthouse as the FP will go much faster after the Courthouse is built.
1255 - Chivalry discovered, start on Chemistry. Lowered sci rate to 70% to make a profit and considering our position in production and their position in tech, techs after Chivalry aren't terribly important
Capital suburbs not doing anything important start producing Knights.
1260 - Started FP in Charliston instead. Looks like that is the ideal place, because it is pretty close to the corrupt cities but still has really good production. Founded Pheonix near the saltpeter which is a little bit east of San Diego, to take it from the Egyptians.
1265 - Nothing
1270 - Leo's Workshop finished.
1275 - Nothing
1280 - Cleopatra asks to trade territory maps, and we do. I noted during the negotiations that they have neither Feudalism nor Theology. Looks like they aren't getting Knights anytime soon. This should be easy.
1285 - First Musketman arrives on Russo/Egyptian continent! I can hardly wait for the attack to begin.
1290 - More troop movement.
1295 - Chemistry discovered. Metallurgy started. Built Albequerque near some horses that our borders haven't gotten to.
1300 - Just troop movement(JTM).
1305 - Palace expanded.
1310 - JTM
1315 - Had to lower science rate again to 60%. We have a huge military now
1320 - Last turn, JTM
Most of our workers are shift-A'd now, as there's not much left to do. What's holding our northern cities back is not lack of improvement, but corruption and waste. We need that FP and courthouses.
While we are not at war with the Russians yet, I hatched a battle plan that I didn't get to implement on my turn. As you can see, all the big productive cities are now producing either knights, longbowmen, or musketmen, based on production capacity and proximity to the loading docks(Baltimore, although Houston is a good spot too). I think the current production tasks are optimal, but anyway here's the battle plan(can't display it here, you have to click the link):
http://www.geocities.com/thcsquad/civ.jpg
Longbowmen and musketmen land at San Diego and Richmond, and stay put for a little while until the knights can get in place. The knights meanwhile head just west of Moscow, and when enough get there, land at the black x(catapults in Moscow cannot hit you, but you can still strike on the next turn). Then raze Moscow(nothing productive will probably ever come out of it at it's location), and head straight to the iron in the mountains(red x) and Sverdlovsk, which has the iron in it's territory. While this is happening, the Longbowmen and Musketmen(Knights are useless in that jungle terrain) would be marching through the jungles, taking their second source of iron, which I fortified a horseman right by. There is also a horseman in Pheonix, and he can be dispatched to the iron just north of him(which is right by Maikop I think) while the musketmen who just landed there can be used to defend the city. In fact you might even be able to take that iron on the first turn of war.
Of course the next king is free to not use my battle plan, but I believe that plan is the soundest, swiftest, and will cause us to lose the least amount of units to use on the Egyptian campaign.
