Amra's ALH Modpack for v1.61 (using Animated Leaderheads)

I have checked the readme of the version of your mod i have installed and recognized its 1.61 :hammer2:

I have no idea what went wrong, i simply downloaded the mod from the link from the first post in this thread. Either you posted your new version shortly after and i thought i have it, or the server i downloa ded the file from was outdated and provided me with an old file. Im currently downloading the 1.72version. Im very sorry keep up the good work :goodjob:

Out of curiosity, what does Vittorio look like? Does he look like the image in my readme? Vittorio is one of the few LH's that had both graphic files reskinned. If he looks okay, then I, unfortunately, have to conclude that the problem is indeed specific to your video card not displaying the Shader version of the leaderheads.

I play all the time on a minimal system and have never had a problem. I use BlueMarble and Smartmap.

Don't lose heart! You have at least made one player very happy. Go have some fun with the RPG and come back when you can.
 
I also enjoy this Mod. And It's still working fine for the three of us on this end. My friends and I appreciate your efforts. :goodjob:
 
Thanks Guys! I'm hopeful that the CTD problems disappeared with the extra resources. And don't worry, I've already begun working on the last 6 civs that I want to add before Warlords comes out. As a teaser, they are going to be:

Israel (David)
Poland (Sobieski)
Iroquois (Deganawida from CivGold)
Polynesia (Queen Salamasina)
Picts (Calgacus)
Troy (Helen of Troy)

Troy is not definite yet, it depends on whether I can make the civ look good (I have an idea for a Trojan Horse UU)

(EDIT) I'm rethinking Troy as I don't think that Helen of Troy would really be a proper Leader for them. She wasn't originally from Troy. I was just considering her as I wanted to try reskinning Elizabeth.
 
Ok now i have found 3 minor bugs so far, but the game is stable

1: The Prophet Aretas III. does not have an image, it showed me a purple window.

2: The Upgrade from Zeppelins to Bombers costs only 10 gold !?

3: The Turkish People under Mehmed call their land "Amerikanisch" which means american in german. :lol:

I guess the treeplanting was removed ? It was damn useful will it come back ?

Also i would suggest to allow the galleys to drive onto the ocean like they where able to in the last 3 games but give them a 30% chance to sink (exept longboats which should be faster able to drive (savely) over ocean squares. Its almost impossible to reach other continents before the galleon, but then every single spot is usually colonized and the technology is almost reaching gunpowder age which makes alot of technology practically useless. Id give the caravel a space of 1 cargo also, i wonder how columbus did reach america if he was not allowed to carry some men :P

I'll take a look at those things and see what's up and I agree with you on the galleys. I had noticed that also but hadn't tried to change it yet. I think that the change you are proposing (and that I wouldn't mind seeing) will involve some python coding which I, unfortunately, have no skill in. I will look around this forum to see if anyone else has tackled this yet.

I'm not sure what to do about the tree planting. I sort of liked it but am not convinced it was really working properly without giving an unfair advantage (ie: too many hammers too quickly). It was removed after version 1.61 along with anything else having to do with python coding in order to track down the CTD problem. So far, with version 1.72 it looks like the problem was with the extra resources (other than Ancient Temples). If that holds up, then my next version will have as many of the interface changes back in that I can safely merge. In the mean time, maybe I can get some feedback from other users of this mod about the tree replanting.

:confused: Does anyone else miss the Tree Replanting? :confused:

Regarding the bugs you mentioned earlier. The pink screen problem with the Great Person Mod occurs when playing Civ4 in languages other than English. Judging by your report of the Turkey problem, you are probably playing the game in German. Unfortunately, I do not know of a fix for this as the coding for that mod matches the art file to the name of the Great Person. The art files use the English names and the problem occurs when, for instance, a german name is different than the English name.

The Turkish name problem is just my fault for not checking the xml when I merged the Turkish civ into my modpack. Thanks for letting me know. I've corrected it in the next version :D

I'm still checking on the Zeppelin upgrade cost & will try to fix it. There is a better 3D model on these forums that I want to include in my next version so I will fix it when I update the Zeppelin. Again, thanks for catching it. :goodjob:

I agree. An unfair advantage.
Or 150 turns are needed to plant a forest.

Np Amra,

I agree with the treeplanting thingy, it should take longer than 6 or 8 turns to plant a forest, maybe 24 -30 turns so its harder to do it but you could with a large workforce :D

In my latest game i had a barren tundra continent, to increase the buildspeed i chooped down most of the forests as i recognized theres no more replanting :eek: especially these tundra tiles are not very useful so id like to have the ability to improve them. Anyone ever player alpha centauri ? there was an enourmous ammout of upgrades from planting forests, building core mines up to raising mountains and even land from the ocean, id wish we could do such things here too :sad:
 
ok i lhave loaded the mod ang my civ is now new now when i start a new game when i click play now and after seleting the setting i cant see the new civs what will i do to play the new civs please help me

Immediately after starting the game did you click on "Advanced" and then "Load a Mod"? If you do that it will list all installed mods including mine. Select "Amra's ALH Modpack v172" and the game will tell you it needs to restart the game.

If the above instructions do not work, then you may not have my modpack installed in the right directory. When you install the modpack, be sure to extract the archive file to the Civ4 main game directory\MODS\ folder. do NOT install it to your CustomAssets folder in My Documents.

I have a problem here, I was playing your mod and my settings were
Team battleground,Industrial, teams, and I was playing as germans but when pressed the end turn button it just quit the game. why me!?!!?:cry: :cry:
 
Soon I'll be getting a pc upgrade so would a 128mb geforce 6600GT (The card I'm getting) Solve my the leaders looking the same problem.

Hey Keldath, Thanks for asking.

I'm still working on v1.80 which, as of now, will have 7 more civs (including Israel, thanks for the 2nd UU) for a total of 32 new civs. Thus, equaling a whopping 50 civs including the original 18 retail civs. I won't be adding any more civs for a while until I purchase the expansion pack. At that time I will remove my duplicate civs and figure out where to go from there.

After finishing the 7 new civs, I will be adding back in some of my favorite interface changes and tweaking a few other things for version 1.80.

I'm hoping to post v1.80 by June 30, but may need to push that back a week as I was sick the early part of last week & then had to go out of town for 4 days (just got back). So, as you can guess, I haven't done much on this in the last 7-8 days. I also have been helping Civ Gold with a few LH's (5 or 6) so look for them in their next release (probably before I release my next version).

Thanks and someone else pointed that out to me recently. Time permitting, I'm going to rework the Mansa/Atheas LH. As it is, I like the leaderhead despite the descrepancy but, nevertheless, would like it to be a little more accurate. :D

Haven't run into that one yet (I just play normal single player games) but will try it out & post back. One question, though, ( and this will make me sound like a noob :(, but... ) is "Team Battleground" multiplayer? And, if so, are all the players in the game using version 1.72 of my modpack? If not, that could lead to crashes. Anyway, let me goof with it on my computer & I will post back. :D

Congrats on the new PC! I'm envious.:drool: I think that is a fairly recent DirectX 9 card with shader capability so it should be okay but please don't hold me to that as I don't have that card and can not test it. I will ask this of anyone else out there reading this:

Does anyone else have a Geforce 6600GT card and does my modpack work okay on it?

If so, please post here and let The Thracian know. I appreciate the help.
