Amra's ALH Modpack for v1.61 (using Animated Leaderheads)

...thought of making a combined mod with 3uu?
Thanks, but for now I'm going to stick with just 2 UU's for each civ. Obviously, If I added any new UU's in this next version that you like, you are more than welcome to use them. :D

I'll try to post the save file tomorrow, since I will be having the pen drive.

I hope it can help, and again sorry for not having it available earlier.
Thanks, Agenteusa. I'd like to take a look at the savegame to see what happens on my computer & if i can get any useful info from the log files.

Good work Amra!
:trophy:

I'll give it a try for sure.

Tell me, the helicopters able to carry troops over the sea are still there ?
An amazing unit...
I just hope to see a "Cruise Missile" one day.
lol.gif

*I would like to translate your MOD in French, but the "Great People MOD" is a problem I think. Anyway...
Thanks! All units that were in version 1.72 are still there, I just added more UU's (including Barbarian) and Ethnically diverse units. Cruise missile could be cool. I'll keep it in mind as I think Snafusmith or Nautil may have made something similar and posted it here somewhere.

I think the Great Person Mod pink screen is gone (hope so, anyway:rolleyes:) as long as everyone is okay with English names. It was running into problems with other languages because the python keyed in on the English name regardless of what language you were playing in. With version 1.80, I changed ALL languages to match the English name. That should fix it. I also have just now added ~40 new great people with art in order to reduce the generic popups. I think they are a nice addition to the existing great people.

Gotta go to sleep now...

Enjoy the well erned rest. We all look forward to it's release.

Have you thought about the changes to be made with the release of Warloards (Such as Civic Changes) , should we start making lists?

I wouldn't mind some suggestions on who should get which new leader trait. As well as any suggestions/requests for replacement civs. After Warlords, I will be removing Carthage, Celts, Koreans, Turks, Vikings, & Zulu. I'm thinking about asking Civ Gold if I can reuse their Hannibal LH as maybe Hector of Troy, so that "may" be one replacement civ.

When I get Warlords and start working on a Warlords modpack, I will start a new thread for it on this forum. I want to leave this modpack posted for anyone who is not purchasing Warlords. Bear in mind, however, that it could take a little while to do a warlords modpack since other modders will need to update their individual mods first to work with whatever internal changes Warlords will make to the game.

Then there is the issue of the Unique buildings I have read about. I'll want to come up with a unique building for all my modpack civs and that may take some time to research each civ.

Anyway, I'm enjoyng doing this and look forward to Warlords. It just may take a little while to put out version 2.00 of my modpack.

Back to the current modpack: I will do some testing later today and try to upload version 1.80 tomorrow, if all goes well. :D

I don't think it will be that hard just look in a tourist guide or google the civ and it should give you some sort of unique building.

Hey everybody,

Sorry for the delay in posting version 1.80 but I ran into problems with the Unique Barbarian mod. I must have screwed something up when merging it because I was getting absolutely NO barbarians with it in. I tried several things to see if I could get it to work but no luck. Anyway, I removed it last night & my world was immediately overrun with hordes of Barbarians. Just the way I like it. :D

Everything else is looking okay, so I will upload the file tonight (I'm on my way out the door to work right now) and post a link as soon as I have it. I am unable to completely & thoroughly test the new version (I'm only one guy) so I trust that everyone will let me know if there are any problems with it. If there are, I will do my best to put up a patch ala Sevo.

Don't rush and test with Germans!!!

I'm already thinking of the Tibetan's UB being a special temple or monestary, the Hyborians get a, uh, super throne and palace of Conan with further bonuses to the capital.
A list might be made later.

I played a quick game last nite on version 1.80 as Bismarck and didn't have any problems so I'm at a loss as to what could have gone wrong with the Germans for you & Agenteusa. Perhaps if I had the savegame from Agenteusa, I might be able to get some info from any logs it would generate for me. Also, I haven't changed anything on the Germans other than adding their second UU (didn't even add any extra city names) so your crashes could have involved something else from one of the other civs in the game or a graphic problem with a unit, etc, etc, etc.

Basically, without the error happening to me and generating some log files, there's not much I can do at the moment. So I am going go ahead & upload version 1.80 shortly. I've done as much as I can, or have time to, with this version and want to go ahead and release it. :D

I'll do that. :goodjob:

In the meantime, version 1.80 has been posted. I will have a 2nd link from 3d Downloads tomorrow, as well as a link to the reference guide.

Got that LH from Civ Gold. It'll be in their version 2.0 which should be out in about two weeks. I like him and thought the designs on his robe were nice work. :D

This is taking a long time to download why can't you zip it up with winzip?
Using WinRAR cuts the size by about 40-50MBs. WinZip doesn't give me nearly the compression that I get with WinRAR.

I have seen some people using a compression format called "7z" or something like that. I could look into that but I think everyone may need to download another program just to open it. I'm not sure.

great work arma - its really buetyfull.

i sallute you:)
Thanks Keldath. I just posted a link to the PDF reference guide on page 1 in case you (or anyone else) want to check out the UU's before downloading. I hope to have the alternate 3D Downloads link posted later today.

I think I am going to take a break from modding Civ4 for about a month, until Warlords has come out and other people (such as TheLopez) have had some time to update their individual mods. Obviously, if something comes up with this version of my modpack, I will do my best to post a patch. Otherwise, though, I'm going to just do a few LH's for Civ Gold (if needed) and enjoy my summer now.

Hi

All the leaderheads look the same for me for some reason, is this just me?
I had this happen with one other person. It was due to his video card not having shading capabilities. Do you have an older video card or perhaps a budget card? That was the case with the other user & he ended up getting a new computer with a better video card shortly thereafter and everything was fine.

From post#1:
Please note that these leaderheads may not display properly on old or budget video cards without shader capabilities as I did not edit the nonshader graphic files.
Unfortunately, I don't have enough time in my life to edit both graphic files for each leaderhead. It takes me about 3 hours per LH just to edit the shader files.

I haven't played with the in game graphic settings too much to know what you may be able to change in order to get the leaderheads to display properly but perhaps try turning off "low texture resolutions" and messing with a few of the other settings.

Otherwise, I'm really sorry if you can't use my modpack. I posted it online so that people could enjoy it not be frustrated by it. It bums me out if someone can't enjoy it. :(

PS: I have enlarged & rewritten the note about video cards on post#1 so that other users will, hopefully, be forewarned.

Amazing work Amra!

I won my first game (Walord level, Space Race Victory)!
It was not easy...
Attacked again and again by a spy...
(at the end of the game, she was still on my territory &#*@^%$!)

It was a FANTASTIC challenge.
:rotfl:

It was fun also to see a "Barbarian Scout(!)" and to capture "Animals".
The "Units Statistics" icon is a nice add-on.
The "Lost Civilization" resource is interesting...

Congratulations Amra... no CTD I think. :D
***

Amra, about the "Naval Mines". CAN ONLY DEFEND, I agree. But why not invisible, like the submarines or spies? Think about it...;) ....seriously.

And... I tried to compress your MOD with 7-Zip, and the size is just 124MB (self-executable). Not bad, hmmm?

Great work Amra. Even if you're not feeling confortable with the Python files, you surprise me a lot!
