I don't think it means anything much at all. It's more like they're saying "whoa there, look at us being, like, profound, you know ". As I said in another thread, Staind is the spawn of Satan and must be terminated with extreme prejudice wherever encountered.

But that's just my opinion :D

That's my simple English interpretation. Now as to who "you" is ... depends on how you feel and who you want to blame for your current troubles on.
 
Okay, I'll analyze it...

Its a song written to sound deep by someone who is, in fact, really shallow but realizes if he strings the right enough emotional words together and sings it like he is constipated, enough people will say "Wow, that really speaks to me", buy the album, and make him filthy rich so he can write about his pain some more.

Unfortunately I didn't see that on the list so I voted for the first option.
