1.) The proverb of the technology "Ceremonial funeral" is not displayed correctly. In the german version there is only that:

2.) PBEM is not working. I can start a game, move my units, create a city, select a technology and end the first turn. The game is saved in the folder and the second player can load the save. He can enter his password, but at the same time the message is displayed that the savegame has been saved for the next player. When he close the message his start point but only one of his units is displayed (sometimes the settler, sometimes the warrior) and he can not move the unit because he has already "interrupt" the game. But the "turn end" button is already green.

Which revision are you using?
 
Version 1031.
The PBEM problem occures with and without KI.
Try deleting all the saves in your PBEM folder. IIRC, it's a bug in default BTS too: if you overwrite a previous save, the game becomes unplayable. I've tried some weeks ago and it was working. Just make sure you never overwrite a file when you save a game playing by email.

I think your forum section equires a separate thread for such multiplayer stuff for brief introduction and explanation of possible obstacles ... for PBEM and LAN/DirectIP. Maybe I could do this in the next time.

Please let me know if you experience any PBEM related problem. Lan/Direct IP works but there are Out of sync problems, I'm still working on that.
 
SVN 1030 - Odds calculation when attacking over water.

The odds don't correctly show, when you attack over water, either via a river, of from the sea I assume (maybe not??)

e.g. Odds of attacking via a river, 95.6%, actual odds are 76.94% a reduction of 25% or the attacking across the river.

Solution - include the river penalty when attacking across the river. (maybe from ships as well?? haven't tried as yet.)

*Edit* more on the river crossing, when you attack from the side, is doesn't show the river crossing penalty, but when attacking from an angle, is DOES show up. Very strange indeed.

2 more notes

1) The AI seems to be using Swords, specifically, heavy swordsman, :strength: 13 as city garrison troops and not as assault troops. It will use Horse units, 2 movement, and siege, but will only include 1 or 2 melee units, these have been produced since war was declared I assume.

Quite regularly, I'll see 10+ heavy swords, as a garrison in backwater cities on the coast.

Solution, create 2 new classes, called garrison and assault, and use it to distinguish from class assault.

Garrison would be Archery units, Gunpowder units onwards. It will use Arquebusier as assault troops and other gunpowder units onwards.

2) is retreat counted as a defeat, because I seem to have way under the odds of retreating, as opposed to the AI and its high retreat

received some CTDs again. Unfortunately. I just cant get to modern age with this mod...:(
Latest revision including latest mega civ pack.

In my current game I had two CTDs which I could prevent by reloading earlier saves.

This one I cannot prevent, you hear some sounds and then the game is gone. Seems to stop at the point, where the Ottomans are crushed. Its frustrating.

Please help to save my saved game. I already had 670 rounds.

Is there any way for me to check by myself what is causing the CTDs?

Unfortunately no, there's no way unless you can debug the dll. And I can't do it either until I get back to my modding PC in a few weeks (hopefully sooner)

So the save is gone... Thats a pity.

The amount of CTDs got higher the last months. Played several games, all died due to CTD.
Dont know when it started, but I dont remember so many CTDs 1-2 years ago.

It might be some option you're using. I've autoplayed dozens of games in the last months for testing purposes, and got very few CTD and none fatal.

Could this be the problem? No, there is clearly an effect, a sound while ending the turn. Something is doing some error.
Do you want me to post the game options to compare them to yours?

I always use MCP, lately I don't use barbarian civs, but that shouldn't be an issue, I usually end up with more than 30 civs anyway playing with revolutions. Try and post your settings although I don't know when I can check. Usersettings folder should be enough, zip it and upload it somewhere, thanks.

So early, I dont think its an memory issue... The turns get by rather fast.

Not really a bug but extremely annoying: Art Gallery construction sound is 10sec long. That's extremely long, especially when you have a big and prosperous empire and your cities keep building it. I think cutting it to 2~3sec would be perfect.

If you agree I can do it and upload it here. I'm sure Vokarya is busy enough.

I can do it; it's a simple cut in Audacity. I think a 4-second cut works best. It gets the first part of the original and then cuts out before the second part comes in.

Gold smiths guild doesn't seem to be providing any benefits.

Do you have a save game for this? I suspect either you're still running Coinage or you have exactly the right amounts of + and - gold from the Guild.
