It looks like a pretty cool game with crappy DRM.

Shame...

What happened that the Anno series isn't on steam anymore (where I buy pretty much all my games since my CD drive is broken)? I bought 1404 however now it doesn't exist. Why is this?

EDIT: Looks like it's on Gamersgate, so eventually I will buy it there, but my question still stands.

I liked 1602 too but after From Dust, I figured I am done with UbiDRM forever.

For. Ever.

Yeah, UbiDRM = no buy. Pity, because I liked Anno 1602.
UBI released a patch for Anno 1404 to remove the DRM.

You need to get the boxed version. The support for the digital American version is really messed up for some reason.

I love Anno 1404, hopefully this one is good.

Played the demo in a few mins, looks wonderful, and much less annoying UI - Production chains together is pretty useful.
Also, am I the only one here who thinks that Thor Strindberg is a bit like Guy Forcas from Anno 1404? (i.e say everything is their idea, planning something, evil in all aspects, greedy etc. etc.)

Voice acting for this douchebag is hilarious:lol:
The way he says about revenge made me giggle for some time.

DRM doesn't concern me. There are ways. If the game is good they'll get the money though.

I like what I see from the demo. They added some nice additional layers on to your city management from Anno 1404 and the setting execution is great. Only thing the really annoying thing is the game seems like it was funded by Greenpeace. :p

PROTIP: Play Tycoon. And Only Tycoon. No more Greenpeace.

Played the demo and loved it, but it was too short. Might buy the full game. Anno 1404 was also great, even though I neither own that title, I know the mechanics.

I know :(
I was hoping to learn something about new features, but I didn't (except for maybe electricity)

I really liked 1602, but EA messed this series up. 1503 was really bad. But now its in the hands of ubisoft, so who knows. Although i liked the anno series more for the historical colonization setting. gonna download the demo someday

Anno 1404 introduced me to the series, so I don't know how good previous versions were. The demo is very short. Here's a screenshot of my game.

In my opinion (based on playing Anno 1701 (PC), Anno 1701 (DS) and anno 1404 (PC)) Anno 1404 was the one that always said "lol, this stuff costs twice as much as all your income for the rest of the game, umad?" while 1701 PC version was more the *insert production chain that comes way too late here*. the DS version? Easiest by all standards.

EA has nothing to do with Anno. Anno 1404 on PC is easily the best in the series.
