Anno Domini beta : test it and feed back here!!

Another part of the pollution problem is that I don't ever see it accumulating in the city screen; I just get told all at once that a tile has been polluted.
Thanks for feeding this in - I've absolutely no idea how to resolve it though. Has anyone any ideas?

I have no idea if anyone's mentioned this already, but in my game, the Anno Imperii era's arrows are not pointing to the correct techs.

I don't know why, but you're not using the backgrounds supplied with the mod, which I can assure you are correct. In my version, that background is labelled "science_industrial_new"

Have you maybe got complete and it's called something else, such as "science_industrial"? Please let me know. The file can be found under art/advisors. I spent a lot of time on those science screens to make sure they were spot on.

Thanks, Rob! That was exactly the problem. For the final version, you might want to put two of the files, one "science_industrial_new" and one "science_industrial". Otherwise you might be drowned with questions like this.

I didn't realise that; is that the only difference I need to be aware of?

I think so. I'll check for more stuff though, just in case.

I can't remember if I asked already  Could you make the Slinger "Ranged Attack Animation" to stop him stepping forward to attack, and could you speed up the Tribal Fanatic's animations too :) ?

The slinger is sorted; I quite like the speed of the tribal fanatic; what do other people think of this?

NOW FOR SOME NEWS!!

There have been three new civilizations added to the game, to bring it up to the full 31. I've had to lose three old buildings due to the buildings limit - Newgrange, the Bayeux tapestry and the temple of Solomon; however, these will all return with their rightful civilizations in future BIQs.

The three new civilizations are:

Brigantia; our Cartimandua makes a reappearance. The Brigantians follow a similar path to the Scots; i.e. mixture of Celtic and post-Roman Britain buildings. There's a couple of era one techs to sort out. Their other advantage is that all era three land units cost just 40 shields. I'm looking to switch the "Groans of the Britons" to them and give the Iceni "Icknield way" instead.

Nabataea; Gamilath is back as leader of the Nabataeans. They will build camel units instead of horse units, which won't require any resources. They will have the walls of Petra as a unique building (grants walls in all cities, doubles defence against barbarians), be able to build the araby as a bonus bazaar/marketplace and will snag the "Spice route" from the Indian civs as a way into the trade race.

Chola; a brand new civ. Thanks to Blue Monkey for the help. You can see more about them below; just need the civilopedia entry for the kadagam please, Blue Monkey ;) . Oh, by the way, I modified an Ogedei "work in progress" building and copied from the ghat as well, to create the kadagam.

Perfect cut n' paste work there. I was wondering for a while if I ever made that building before I fully read your post. :crazyeye:

Asia Buildings Pack 3a [Caravanserai, Citrasala, Elephant Stables, Harappan Great Granary] is now available as promised. :)

Thank-you ever so much!!

Hey Rob, any news on the update you have in store? I was just wondering so that I'll know when I can approximately expect it (at that point, I'll invest a lot more time in testing this, especially as Sparta bwahahahaha). Of course, that's in no way a demand, just a simple question. ;)

Indeed, a nice cut n' paste graphic! Looks really good.

I've been working on it flat out for the past three days. There's not too much for me to do now before uploading. I'm expecting some Indian units to show up soon, so I may give it a couple more days before the big upload (of the new patch) to 3ddownloads. It's a big 'un!

THIS IS SPARTA!

Ventarani is a real beauty. Mmmmm. :D

The Cholan Ventarani (Queen) is a really nice LH from the preview. You've captured a look that might easily be how a Kshatriya (noble caste) Cholan would have looked (Tamil with just a touch of the Arya).

Expect a kadagam 'pedia description within 24 hrs.

Three questions -

Given that a kadagam is a type of fortress/garrison, would it make more sense to have the required resource be stone, rather than tar?

I can't tell (because it's the small version) if the Cholan Culture icon is based on a Cholan artifact or from another area of the subcontinent. Given that the Cholas were as important to Indian culture as the Borgias were to Renaissance Italy, I'd be happy to find an image & make an icon (quickly this time) based on a Cholan work of art.

Have you settled on a Cholan UU? I know you proposed one in our PMs and I suggested an alternate. I'd be happy either way, or even if other alternatives present themselves.

Beautiful work, Rob! Ventarani is an amazing leaderhead, and the Kadagam is an amazing cut 'n' paste job. Great work !

Thanks for all the comments, guys!! Blue Monkey - I thought I'd use Plotinus' forthcoming archer as the villigal; you're right about using stone as the resource for the kadagam; and yes, a different icon for Cholan culture would be great!
