Anno Domini Classic

Sounds fine to me. I like to see total replacements, once you have few patches or are finished. Many mods are a pain, in that you have so many pieces to apply. It can be confusing.

Thanks for the interest guys :).

A couple of previews of new leaders...for "Anno Domini: A new world" we have a new MesoAmerican leaderhead, probably to be used as Spirit Jaguar of the Olmecs:

...and continuing my much-loved theme of British queens and chieftesses of the first century, we have Venissa of the Catuvellauni, who we will meet in "Anno Domini: Obscurities":

On a more serious note, the pedia say that the Pentagon allows a 4th unit. The hyperlink is invalid and no pedia entry exist for it. I have had 3 armies for some time, but have not been told I could built the Pentagon.

The pedia for armies had mentioned the Pentagon and the MA. That also gets an invalid hyper link. No entry for it. I am guessing neither is actually in the game.

I forgot to mention this one. It seems War Phants ignore terrain. I have seen them move two tiles in my land, while at war, over mountains for both tiles. If this is correct we need to have the pedia reflect it as it makes how you react change.

On an equally serious note there shouldn't be any reference to the Pentagon....the mod ends about 400-500 years before it was built. I'll need to look into that!! I'll check up on War elephants as well.

My vote is for uploading a whole new package. After a certain point I get confused about which patches I've installed & which I haven't. Since installing them on a Mac is not as straightforward as on a Winbox I sometimes find myself reinstalling a whole scenario anyway once it's been patched.

I may be wrong on the phants. I checked the rules and do not see it has ignore for terrain. Mountains have a cost of 3 movement, so I probably was mistaken. I will kept an eye out for it. Right now I have killed all the phants that I can see.

I figured you did not intend to have Pentagom, but I was not sure about the MA. I am good either way, just so long as the pedia has it correct.

Can I put in my .02 on ruins? They are driving me crazy as they look so much like a normal town, The first time I captured a town, it was actually autorazed, but I thought I had a town. I finally figured out it was a ruin.

I had two tiles next to each other that were sites where towns had been. Very freaky with two towns look a likes side by side. Not a huge deal, but takes some getting used to seeing.

I just looked for the victory points and how they are earned, but nothing is in the pedia. The victory conditions does not even mention VP as a method, but F8 has it?

I'm glad people are going for this option. It actually makes it easier for me to mod (as I'm modding my version, then can upload it rather than working via a "patch" folder). The only thing that I thought was that people might not want to download it all again, but these days most people have broadband and it's fairly quick.

They're Pounder's graphics....I know what you mean, but I thought they were the best ruins around. Improving the tile gets rid of the graphics, incidently.

There are no victory points to be earned in Anno Domini - you need to make sure the victory points option is unchecked in the menu.

Probably left over from the previous mod. F8 shows 50,000 to win and I am gaining points from atleast the capitol. Oh, well too late now.

Not sure what this means, but I have a town that is size 8, not on river or lake and did not have an aqua. The pedia says it allows growing beyond 7? I have other towns at size 7 that are growing with same conditions.

This I wrote off to the engine as you see towns reporting to grow past town size in
C3C, but they do not actually get to the next size. Just fyi.

Edit :

I do have a size 7 town that is not growing.

I can't see all the buildings Caister has built in that picture. If you have any of the following in Caister, then that's what's causing the city to grow: cattle farm, wheat farm, code of Hammurabi. I'm aware that you don't yet have the aqueduct.

The insula can be built without a prerequisite building (as can the hospital later in the game) and takes the city to size 3.

I wonder which patched .biq for Classic is better: from this thread ("2.01 patch") or from Expansion thread ("2.03")? File attributes for "Anno Domini Classic.biq" better in second.

I think it has Hammurabi, I know I am avoiding Insula in any towns. I am not sure, if getting large than 14 would be a pop pollution maker and I do not want that. With no rails, I could not deal with pollution.

2.03 I think it has some corrections that are needed for classic. In any event, it cannot hurt.

I was looking ahead a bit to see what direction I should take and read the Roman Road entry. It says you can make rails, once you learn Steam Power. However I cannot find Steam Power in the tree and the hyper link is empty.

Is the link missing or is Steam Power not really required? I am too lazy to look in the editor and in any event a correction is needed one way or the other. Please tell me I can get rails at some point.
