Anno Domini for Civ IV

I thought that animals couldn't enter city borders.

Having further thought this out, there would be a tech imbalance - i.e. it would take a few turns for the Vandals to find a city and overpower it. In the meantime, the other civs will have researched a couple of techs on top of their freebies. However, what I could do is make their starting techs Bronze Working (which is normally researchable after Tool Working, Mining and Warrior Code have been researched - but the Vandals would still have to research the other three techs to reap their individual benefits) and Boat Building, which normally requires a few other techs. That would give them a basic ship (in case they started the game on an island) and the spearman buildable after Bronze Working, which has 3 power against the 2 power that the basic Warrior has.

Summoned or captured animals roam freely in FfH2. So if you capture a tiger you have a scout that can go anywhere. :)

I think the idea has some merit if you pursue it.

I'll have to investigate that, thanks!

I look forward to playing this one . I could never get the civ 3 one to work . I had the 2K civ3 complete and I had about 3 or 4 different folders to put mods in and for me it was a crap shoot . Do I put it in the infogrames folder, the atari folder or frixia folder so in short I cant wait for this one

is there still a small chance of you making anno domani for civ 4 , if not I will go ahead and start mourning

The thread is dead. I've been re-working the Civ III version as there was more demand for it and I found it more enjoyable to do. I'll return here though at some stage ;) .

Yaaaaay, And some wonder why Civ3 modding ratings are up there with a game thats suppose to be the modding dream. Civ3 going on 7 years is so dam polished n' doing great and we love having you back Rob. No reply needed your a busy man making are christmas wish come true with Annui two!!!

THe tech tree is amazing I love that its so deep with flavour! Heck its bigger then original games 4eras together and its completes just the span of teveryones favorite period in Civ. the early ages!!!. Incrediable! all new units and dazzling leaderheads! Pedia supported like 'out of box' replica only expanded! new advisors layout everything :run:

Its like the only CIv game you can play the whole way through and never dread the modern day blahs rather be immersed in fascinationg history that Rob details beautifully through Wonders Big n Samll, Pedia units discripts and thoughful gov representaion. I can't thabk you enough for coming back man. We all can't

The graphics are going to be better then 4 this time around. thanks to his friend Ares the wonder artist, Just look! at early unrefined samples(thats right they only get better!!)" Jungle
Grass n hills

Desert

ANd best of all the debut of Atila the Hun i:eek: Thats right! not since the small scenario RFRE has BIG HUB made the sceane. Now its his own flavourful RANDOM MAP adventure all with his crazy expressions and distinct units!!!! Its a great time to be A Civ 3 player( ala mod of coures, tsk tsk)

You are the man my friend

Finally, the Civ III basic version/demo of Anno Domini is due out in early June; I should have it all done by the time "beyond the sword" comes out. So my update (after so long ;) ) is that I'll be tempted to return to Civ IV at that point. The fact that BTS has already got Boudicca, Hammurabi, Justinian and Pericles in it makes it very tempting indeed (BTS seems almost made with Anno Domini in mind :) )....I'll have a think about what I want to do with the Civ IV mod once the Civ III version's out and start active discussions over here again. One of the items for consideration is whether or not to include other cultures in it - such as the Mesoamericans. The Civ III version runs from the "dawn of time" up to just before gunpowder units would come in, so that's the timeframe I'll be considering. Sadly, no real advances have been made in terms of original animated leaderheads since I've been away, though there is talk of being able to completely overhaul the graphics engine

That is false, real advance have been made. Plepoer and me will probably do a tutorial to explain our method when we will be less busy in the next months.

Well, that's good to know!! I did say that I thought there had been no real advances in original animated leaderheads - as opposed to reskins - if it's the case that original heads are being done, I'd be happy to stand corrected!!

If you can wait a month, you'll see what Ploper and me can do with out tutorial ;)

wow... sounds great!

can you at least tell us how long your method could take, compared to skinning? :D

Well, it depends of your modeling speed and the size of the modification you want to make.

Yes, I can wait; I'm still finishing off the Civ III version and won't be restarting the Civ IV mod until BTS comes out at the end of July. I'm looking forward to the tutorial!
