As one of my schools extemparaneous speakers I have to keep up with world events. I do so with reading newsweek from back to front. So I know a bit about ANWAR. But since the recent occurences any study of ANWAR has been put on hold. So I crack open my trusty Newsweek...

First of all it's called ANWR "the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge". The just so happens to be a minute (in my opinion) amount of oil up there. Bushy, Dicky and co. want to drill to provide a larger amount of domestic oil to offset large foreign imports. The problem is that it likely would only provide very litte for a short time (say 5% of all oil needed for the next 8 years). The real controversy is that it is one of few completely unspoiled areas in the united states. It has an amazing amount wildlife. But no one cares because it's in North Central Alaska.

I say no. I say so because oil seems a small thing to worry about when compared to spoiling an entire reserve. The oil is likely scattered in parts all over the Alaska North Shore. That mean that there will lots of wells that are dry, that means there willl be roads and pipelines crisscrossing through this pristine wilderness. Not to mention the fact that now oil prices may soon approache levels where it's just not worth the cost of drilling and trasporting.

The number one reason: oil is easily available throughout the barren wastelands of Arabia. Why destroy Alaska when we can stick a a well most anywhere and find enough oil to make it worthwhile in the middle east.

Oh, it's the stuff what Bush imagined few months ago. Let me say:

(sorry for offending language, but thats my opinion about this subject. Good day)

Edit: That's unacceptable Juize. You should know that by now.

EDIT: WHAT IS UNACCEPTABLE? TELL-ME. THERE ISN'T A SINGLE THING
ON THE RULES PAGE THAT I HAVE BROKEN.
OR ARE THE RULES CHANGED? IF SO, WHERE ARE THEY LOCATED.
IT WOULD BE NICE TO KNOW IS THERE ANY PROOFS.

Watch your mouth little boy....

you should've added another option: WTH you talking about?

OK, i believe that that is unacceptable...

haven't we learnt yet? Oil is not the future of the world? Before we go drilling up anyoil, develop hydrogen cars.
America wants to control the oil in the mIddle east, and obviosly they cant... but then, while they are at this war, they might as well take control of everyone there and nick there oil...
but that would be a bad mistake. we have polluted this world enough, lets go hydrogen.
