just curious, I rarely use them, but find them useful if I'm "island hopping" or trying to get non-paratrooper units behind enemy lines.
what are your guys' thoughts.

They can be useful if the enemy's capital is not far inland and you are looking to destroy their spaceship.
I don't research Adv flight and I had to look it up to realize there are helio's in the game. I thought you guys were talking about civ4.
They are fun in IV and are in the upgrade from cavs, so worth doing if the game gets to that point. Have not played 4 in a long time though. Not even installed rught now.
Willard voice over said:It was the AirCav, First of the Ninth, our escorts to the mouth of the Nung river. But they were supposed to be waiting for us another 30 kilometers ahead. Well, Air Mobile, those boys just couldn't stay put. First of the Ninth was an old cavalry division that had cashed in its horses for choppers, and gone tear-assing around 'Nam, looking for the sht. They've given Charlie a few surprises in their time here. What they were mopping up now hadn't even happened an hour ago.
Never, ever have used them or paratroopers, except maybe to see what the animations were like. Same with all air units.
Never have needed to. If I did need to, I would. Of course, I'm only on Regent.
