AP European History Test

Anybody here take the AP European History Test Today?

Personally, I though the Multiple Guess was pretty easy section. The DBG was pretty easy, but I had trouble actually using the Documents to answer the question. The essay's were good.

I chose essay 4, about Social and Cultural changes between the World Wars.

I also chose 7, comparing and contrasting Metternich's views and accomplishments with that of Bismarck.

The multiple choice were fairly balanced. Quite a few on each part, except the Renaissance.

I heard it was really hard last year from some of my classmates. What have you thought of this or previous AP Euro Tests?

I took the test yesterday and actually chose the exact same essay prompts as you. Although after starting my Metternich free response I decided it was probably a bad idea, should have gone for the Europe after 1945 topic.

Advanced placement test. If you take it in High School and pass you can get college credit. I took the AP U.S. History test my junior year and got a 5 out of 5 . Only person in my class to do it! Didn't take the Euro test, though. My school didn't offer it.

^I took that AP U.S. History Test that you speak of on Friday (i myself am a squashmore) and I think I got carpal-tunnel from the essay/DBQ section. (Honestly, I was writing up something fierce for 50 minutes on end) I could ask my bro about the Euro test because he took it on the same day at noon, but from his opinion about it I could already tell he thought it was a lot easier than the u.s. history one he took last year.

I skipped about 4 questions on my u.s. test.

I think the reason they changed the format of the euro test (as opposed to the u.s. hist test, which is harder) is because we all grew up learning about U.S. History in elementary school all the way up until the test, while European History was only taught in the year of the test. (that and my brother says it's easier to learn about the reigns of kings than presidents.)

So what do you think?

I would have to agree with your analysis Ctizen K. The Euro test was pretty easy especially compared to previous years. There was only one 5 in my school last year, and only about three 4's.

The DBQ's were long and my hand hurt bad when I was done. I have talked to others who have taken it, and they all said that it was easier than they expected (Except a friend, who wrote on his DBQ that the Marshall plan was between the World Wars .

Where do you go to school Napoloen? I live outside of Baltimore, and go to Fallston High School. I will be taking the AP US test next year.

I got a 5 last year on it, I was a history machine.

This year however, I was not a comparative government machine.

Back when I was in high school I took both history exams and got 5's on both. The tests were amazingly easy, but I'll admit that writing for 2 1/2 hours isn't my favorite way to spend an afternoon. The nice part was that I received 12 full credits at my university for them, which put me 1/3 of the way to a history degree before I even entered the school!

I took the European History AP last year (and got a 5 ), but I have a few friends who just took it and they said it was quite easy. The essays especially did not seem to be difficult from what they said. My old teacher had focused a lot on the Industrial Revolution and post-Napoleonic Europe so my friends said they did well on those essays in particular.

Just as a side note, did anyone take the AP Biology exam this year?

I did, and I actually ended up getting a 5. I thought the multiple choice was simple, and the free response so-so. I also took the AP Calculus (AB) test and got a 5. My school is crap in the way of history -- Everything I've learned of history, except French history, has been on my own. Fortunately, I'm doing Running Start next year.

I took the World History AP test and got a 5 on it in May. Pretty easy.

I took the US in May of 2001 and got a 5. I hear the European test (which I will be taking in May 2002, along with Biology, Literature, and the two Politics and Government ones) is easier, so I am looking forward to it.

What scares me is that the teacher admitted to getting a 3 on the test back in the 80's, and since she began teaching here most students have gotten a 4 or a 5. Wouldn't that raise serious inferiority issues with her? It certainly would with me.

I took it last year (got a 5!). I knew everything on that exam! I worked so hard in that class. This year, I took the AP US exam. Also got a 5 on that one. But, I knew half as much. I can pass any AP exam if I have at least 1 week with the appropriate Princeton Review!

Man you guys are lucky. My school only offers AP american history 1&2. How boring. Atleast I had a great teacher last year, and a pretty good one this year, so it isn't too much work.
