Seems it was Thanos snapped, but then Tony pulled out his UNO reverse card.

The changes look great, I just want to point out that towards the end they say: "Please hit the follow button, so you never miss out on any news about Sid Meier's Civilization." (No VI)

I think it's been safe to assume some sort of Civ6 spinoff for awhile, but I'd also like to note that they emphasized this was the last patch of the season again.

Spain:

Khmer:

Mapuche:

Here's Georgia too:

I am so confused right now... WHAT ARE THEY SAYING??!!

Bravo, for the team. This final update is a real treat. I can't wait for the full list of changes.

I love the new maps, I love the new units and I really like the civ changes that we've get to see thus far. I really like the Mapuche ones, one of the worst designed civs in my opinion.

Also better naval AI. After already better air AI. Wonderful.

(copy paste from other thread)

Massive changes to Mapuche, Canada and, especially, Khmer, who will now be an absolute faith juggernaut. The ‘major adjacency to holy sites from rivers’ bonus alone has the potential to be amazing, let alone the other buffs alongside it.

More dubious about Spain: they’re still very dependent on settling on foreign continents, which is sometimes entirely out of the player’s hand. Then again, Victoria makes it work, so perhaps Spain will finally glue together.

I also noticed that Georgia’s Khevsur now replaces the new Man at Arms unit – i.e. you can prebuilt Swordsmen and upgrade into it (at Military Tactics, presumably). That’s a huge buff; and I assume the same will apply to Japan’s Samurai, Norway’s Bezerker, and then a few others for the ‘Line Infantry’ unit as well (eg. Redcoats or Garde Imperiale).

Has anyone noticed Carl moved from Lead QA to Junior Designer? BTW changes seems nice. TSL Huge Earth and Mediterranean plus units we all have been asking for.
Seems like the right choice, given the quality of this update. Or he could be junior designer for something else, who knows?

I maintain the best approach is to expect no more, but enjoy hoping to be wrong. After that call out to end of the season, hope shines a bit brighter!

Regardless, I'm optimistic about the rebalancing. Hopefully it's mostly making old civs better, rather than nerfing. I suppose Gran Colombia may need a nerf, but I hope it is minimal if so, and won't mind if it isn't.

I especially like Spain's changes, though I still think Khmer should get bonus production to Dams, Canals, and Aqueducts.

that emphasis on "of the season"...

Really wish they would stick to a consistent phrasing but I guess not.

Whoever is coming up with phrasing used in the videos over the last couple of months really needs to become a lawyer because they are great with the weasel words.

Of the ones revealed only the Khmer look like they actually improved by a decent amount instead of just a nice bonus here or there. The changes to Georgia are kind of, insulting is too strong of a word, but man it looks like they put zero effort into it.

Unless the pre-GS unique units are properly integrated into the GS units, so a Mamluk upgrades into a Cuirasser instead of a tank, then I really don't care about any new units. Also, if the men-at-arms are unlocked with Military Tactics then I'm probably never going to use them. That is like the worst tech in the game.

Because khevsur replaces man-at-arms, I assume samurai and berserker does the same? Perhaps the new line infantry could be replaced by redcoat if played as England?

Probably so if the Khevsur replaces them. That might mean the same for Norway's Berserker and Japan's Samurai. Also Khmer's Domrey replaces the Trebuchet.
