As you are working on it atm I just found one thing on the last pictures release which might be improved (if you are an real perfectionist 
)
One part of the hills/mountains is a bit rough as shown in the picture below
Also the difference in color of the lower parts of the hills to the grassland is a bit large.
The sea tiles are the best I have seen out here an the blending of the different terrain is just amazing (e.g. grassland-dessert and grassland-plains).

Great I look forward to seeing renewed progress of this extraordinary terrain.
After seeing this set being used in a number of beautiful preview images for other graphics, I'm bumping the thread again to ask if there's been any progress on a final (or at least complete) release. I really think this is an exceptional piece of work that makes Civ III look spectacular - I'd love to see a 1.0 release!

1) Yes, there will be a Gold version
2) I've completely reworked a good deal of the terrain, including the grassland
3) There is still no ETA yet, sorry.

I´m glad to hear this -especially about the grasland.
At present I always have to post: The Ares II terrain is the best terrain made for Civ 3 all around the globe - but only if there is some irrigation covering the grasland terrain.
