Ares de Borg's Terrain Pack II: Preview Thread

With the risk of these comments becoming sooo booring, I'll add to the chorus: The beaches look terrific

But is there any chance of removing the sand beaches from some tiles, since all the coasts don't have sandy beach (or is it just present in the grassland terrain?)

Yes, there will be some cliffs as well.

@all: Thanks for all the kind words.

Lets hope never. Becasue when Ares Relases it I'm going to have to download it replace sn00py's terrain withit, play afew game, gawk in awe.. and frankly, I'm just too lazy to do it all. Far too much effort when I could just sit here on the forums all day yelling at people for bumping dead threads.

Ares,

is there an "ETA" for your fine work?

At the moment things have slowed down a bit - RL got me. I'm still working on my projects but I can't exactly say when TP2 will hit the server. I think "less speed - more quality" is better than the other way around. ;)

Can we see some more preview of the swamps?

I like swamps.

It looks damn fine.

Actually, personally I think I prefer the look of the coast you previewed on the previous page, with the lighter water along the beach merging more gradually into the deeper water (giving it a slightly hazy look), rather than the more clearly defined "wave" look you've got going here. But this is just a small preference, as they are both really, really good. This is by far the best sea terrain I've seen for this game, truly exceptional.

Yes, this is progressing very well indeed. I actually really liked the wavey spray effect on the coasts, as per post # 131. And the forests are looking good too. Just posting to let you know that I'm standing by, ready to plant it all into the next scen that comes out of the Rambuchan stables. :salute:
