Arioch's Analyst Thread

Sorry, yes, it is an F22. As for the submarine, I'm not sure exactly which class/nationality, but it looks more like a modern-day SSBN (a "boomer" - one that carries ballistic nuclear missiles) than a SSN (a fleet submarine).

That's an Ohio class Boomer. Look at the hump on the back where the Missile tubes are. They're hard to make out, but the profile of the curve changes in the game pic

That's too much hump also the conning tower and sail are completely different. Also, they are further forward on an Ohio verses a 688.

Arioch, I was looking through your site and I have to say that I think that the cost of the Samurai is wrong. I think it would have to be 150 (just mis-read). I just can't see the Samurai costing more than a Bomber or Aircraft Carrier. I would have to see the source where this is pulled from.

I agree that the number is ridiculous (which is why there's a question mark on it), but that is the value from the screenshot.

I expect the cost values in particular to fluctuate a lot in different pre-release builds, so I write them down when I see them, but I don't otherwise pay much attention to them.

Different game speeds maybe?

On that note, I do remember seeing a cost of 1000 for the GDR's in one of the Civilopedia entries that was, unfortunately, taken down. Just an FYI!

The Sidney Opera House (in the city in the center) and a rocket artillery in full action against a battle cruiser.

I see in the Essen screenshots that the representation of the Great Wall is moving, and in the medieval era follows the borders, but not in the modern. I might be jumping to conclusions a bit quickly here, but my guess is that the Wall moves with your borders (so it's easy to see the area of effect at a glance) until it obsoletes, at which point it becomes fixed. If that is correst, this is indeed evidence that wonders may go obsolete.

I notice however that it looks like the Wall wil only surround one seperate area, as New York and Bucharest are not built in in the first screen. I wonder if that only applies to the graphics or also to the effects?

Yes. That makes a lot of sense. If the Great Wall protects one city's area only, it looks much more balanced.

Great General Special Action: Construct a Citadel: +100% Defensive Strength for any Unit stationed in the Tile. Any enemy unit which ends its turn next to the Citadel takes 3 damage. Constructing the Citadel will consume this unit.

It says Defensive Strength.

It seems that cannon does not require any resource.

From the picture we may calculate that the cost of Pikeman is 100,

From the lower part of the list
civw6.png

we may deduce that costs of the building are as follows:
Courthouse 200 = 25*8
Water Mill 120 = 15*8
Garden 120 = 15*8
Monument 60 = 8*8 rounded down
Armory 130 = 17*8 rounded down
Castle 200 = 25*8
Granary 100 = 13*8 rounded down
Workshop 100 = 13*8 rounded down
