Arioch's Analyst Thread

No, that doesn't make them fixed, everything from now till release, (and even after release with patching) "could" be changed. I don't think it is very likely that they will change quite a lot of different things. But you can't call it "fixed." Not even say 1UpT that "could" be changed before release, I highly doubt it, I would say 99.99% not, but thats beside the point.

The strategic resources were listed by 2K Greg on the Civ5 website, so they are fixed. The food and luxury resources in theory could be changed, but I find that very unlikely.

Still, nothing is final until it is final. Anything could change between now and September 21st (or when the game goes gold, at least).

What is wrong about workers standing shoulder to shoulder? How should they look like?
Maybe they should crying or something ecause they aren't reach or something?
Workers have right to be proud to, why should they be commies cause they are standing like that:confused:?
Maybe I should have been clearer, the picture for Order with the workers in it reminds me of a lot of communist posters from back in the day so I think it makes for a better picture for Order than the school children picture. It's even in an art-deco style which is common for those kinds of posters. The only thing that would put it over the top for me is if all the workers adopted the same pose where they were looking and reaching up towards the sky as this was a common theme in those posters.

Wow, the quality of content of this thread has just ... plummeted. :(

Indeed, and it doesn't seem to be just this thread, either. Therefore I propose that instead we discuss how the science advisor looks like Jeff Dunham's "Achmed the Dead Terrorist"

Seriously though, it took me ages to notice that the science advisor's eyes weren't bulging out of his skull, but rather, he's just wearing glasses.

Because he's cool like that.

Now I don't care who you are... that's funny, right there!!!

That's it, Greg? This means you won't fill in all the blanks? The second icon in the Philosophy tech in particular is bugging me. Looks like Arc de Triomphe but I don't get it's connection to Philosophy. It also reminds me of the artwork for The Sistine Chapel or Bach's Cathedral in CivIII though I don't recall which.

Edit: Second icon in Construction looks like The Great Wall.
Edit 2 (sorry still prodding): First icon in Acoustics looks to me like a grand organ in a Cathedral or something similar (e.g. Cathedral Building).

I think the watermill gives +1F +1H +1G per riverside tile worked according to the Gao city view.

WHAT ???!!!

The levee was an awesome improvement with only +1 production - lategame!
This would be the most overpowered building ever! And you'd be a fool to not place cities next to rivers...

I can't find the screen any more, may someone re-link it?

Don't worry, it's just a guess. It may be a flat +2F +2H +2G and available to riverside cities only.
But the fact that there is 2 worked riverside tiles and the yields are 2 above the expected output ...

There's a farm by the river with 3 :food: and one :gold: and a spice plantation with 1 :food:, 1:hammers: and 1 :gold:. The screenshot with +2:science: on jungle tiles -most likely from universities- indicates that increased yields from buildings are shown on the tiles and it's just a coincident that the city works two river tiles (actually 3 if you count the center).

I believe waterwheels give a flat +2 bonus.

If you work it out, The Water Mill simply add's "+2F +2H +2G", to your total production of food/hammers/gold, it works just like the granary which adds "+2F"
