Panzer: Note that the tooltips shown were not quite up to date: The Panzer is not only faster, but has 10 more strength than the tank!

My eyes are bleeding, I can't help but comment:

They seem to translate Panzers to Panthers (Panzers (Panther) in text) *sigh*
Panzer comes from PanzerKampfWagen which means Armoured Battle Car
Panther is the designation name of the Panzerkampfwagen V

Also, the types II and III (which made up the bulk of Panzers during the French Invasion) were indeed inferior to British and French tanks, but they had the advantage of gifted tacticians, superior tactics and ... radios. The Germans were the first to install a communication radio in every tank.

I couldn't find any other confirmation of the movement speed of embarked units so:

I notice that towards the end of part II of Greg's gameplay demo (@54:35) he embarks a knight and moves it across water. When embarked the movement rate of that knight is 2 tiles per turn, i.e. less than it's movement rate on land. I imagine this must be the generic movement rate for embarked units, at least in this time period...perhaps things speed up in later eras due to tech improvements.

Here is a before/after of the knight on land and then on water:

I must say if 2mp is the standard for embarked units and if (a big if) England gets its 2mp bonus on these as well as other navy units that puts the English UA in a very different light...doubling the speed of embarked units would be huge.

Looks like Three Gorges Dam can be added to the list of Wonders. There's a sound file named for it that I just uncovered in the pre-load. :)

I'd suggest it's available with Plastics, like the hydro plant.

Otherwise, we seem to have them all though. 29 wonders in all.

And bam the hammer drops, now you shall all fear us.

"Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves: Britons never, never, never shall be slaves." :trouble::queen:

I'm hoping that the movement point of ships increases with technology. But, yeah, England does have the clear advantage here (as she should).

The special ability attached to machinery is an additional road movement point (confirmed by a screen at some point during Greg's Japan implosion demonstration).

There's also a sound directory for "Mogolia," so that's not exactly definitive.

And a CIV5Religions.xml file

Other weird files inc;

CIV5Months.xml, No idea what this is for.
CIV5Seasons.xml, < It would be Amazing if they had different graphics for each season.
CIV5MultiUnitFormations.xml, <Moving multiple units at once :D.

My favourite intriguing files names are:

Dinosaur.ani
Airlift.ani
Mutiny.ani

Edit: oh, and Deplete.ani

If you do, put it in spoilers. As far as that being a secret unit, I can't imagine any practical use or how to get it.

Since people seem touchy about the secret unit I put my guess into spoiler, but just to say I have no actual information and it's just a wild guess :)

Spoiler :
My guess for the secret unit is a Godzilla type unit with some sort of bonus fighting against the Giant Death Robot. I've had this idea ever since I saw the Civlopedia screenshot for the GDR. I'm sure I haven't been alone in this thought but I haven't actually seen anyone say it, which I'm sure I just missed.

you don't need to put it in spoilers if your just spitballing. But if you have something like a game file that makes you think it might be "X" then don't post it without spoilers.

Found the description of indirect fire promotion, not what i though it was, Thought it was supposed to give you the ability to shoot outside of your individual line of sight. maybe that is what that means as well.

Spoiler :

indirectfire.png

Indirect Fire - Ranged attacks may be performed over obstacles.

And march allows a unit to heal regardless of what it does in a turn (normally you would only heal if you fortfied, sleeped, or skipped the units turn.)

Though it was supposed to give you the ability to shoot outside of your individual line of sight. maybe that is what that means as well.
These are the same thing; Obstacles are what block line of sight.
Example: you have range 2, but are surrounded by forest. Normally, you could only see 1 tile, so could only shoot 1 tile in any direction. But with indirect fire, you can shoot over the forest to the tile beyond, even though you can't see it.

Yes that might be right, but before we were given the impression and actually during that video, that a unit even if it has 3 range can only shoot 2 without indirect fire.

Its a bit hard to understand.
