Arnes Shipyard [Sailing Ship Units]

Thanks for this one. Do you happen to have a pedia entry. I checked WIKI but nothing. I guess this unit never existed in RL?
Well, the thread it was originally posted in was here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=242596&highlight=quinquereme
The site the guy got inspiration from is here: http://www.rodlangton.com/ancient/desc.htm
Finally, this is the entry I used:

I think Alexander the Great used some form of siege quinquereme during the siege of Tyre... though it may not have been called by that name at the time.

The first translation wasn't very good...

That's because it's the result of Google doing the translating. ;)
Nothing to be ashamed of. I seen actually released games you could buy in a store, from a somewhat established company :)wavey: Activision, Starfleet Command series), where the german localization was done via Google translator.

again two models relinked, the siege (Trireme animation) and transport (Galley aniamtion)
(only the nifs are included)

Does anyone knoes how to correctly configure these ancient ships? I've been trying it for a long time, but couldn't figure out what mistake i may have committed. The DDS files seems not to correspond to the NIF files instructions. So the ships have no skin (i mean, they are pink). As i don't have NIF editing programs, i don't have the tools to discover the correct reference. Would appreciate some help!

At some units, you can see "is based on", so i think, you should take the skin of the unit-base.
Like mentiond, the trireme or the galley.

Yes, it worked. Thank you, The J! It will be very useful.

Okay... Xeno's fix worked for me... and I was able to use my custom sails so I can teamcolor this sucker for all mideast nations without them all looking Byzantine...

Wolfshanze,

could you share your custom sails model somewhere? ;)

You can just pull it out of his mod.

I checked ALL the links in Wolfshanze's signature, ALL the Wolfshanze's Files in his View Profile, but I didn't find his dromon.
Do you know which mod contains this unit?

Thanks!!!
I've mistakenly supposed that a mod called "Wolfshanze 1850-1920 Mod for BtS... adds "flavored Civs", coal-fired navies, WWI units, plus Poland, Austria & Vietnam to Civ4!" wasn't the right place to find an ancient dromon... :crazyeye:

You'd be suprised at how sometimes the taglines of mods and the actual content differ.

Excellent units btw.

Any chance someone could turn the galley or the cog into a fire ship? Would be cool to have an early naval missile unit. Would be an upgrade because I wouldn't really see people building actual fireships. My understanding was that they were old ships reaching scrap age that were recycled to bring down an enemy fleet...
