Art of the Possible

France will continue working with the United Kingdom for a situation that resolves Korea in a matter that deescalates the current crisis, and encourages its partners in Richmond to sign the final product when it is completed

The CSA will gladly sign any agreement that protects the inviolable right to sovereignty of the Korean people.

We wish to maintain strong ties of friendship and cultural and military exchange with the Korean People, which would be impossible under Japanese Hegemony. As has been made clear through this entire process, the CSA has, at the invitation of friends of many years, been invited to help protect it's ally, and we have NEVER sought to do more than that.

We greatly appreciate the efforts of powers like Great Britain and Russia, and, in Particular, France, in standing against unwarrented Japanese aggression.

Hey,

The Korean diplomat stood reading the paper handed to him. The Korean officer, in his new CSA styled uniform, saluted him and retreated from the room closing the door. As he read he shook his head from side to side.

To: Korea
From: The Japanese Empire

I am willing to offer you a way out that preserves Korea's continued independence and sovereignty.

  • Form a new, pro-Japanese government of reformist politicians.
  • Implement judicial reforms that establish an independent legal system, provide full protection of private property, equality before the law, and abolishment of slavery.
  • Sign a treaty of alliance with me.
  • Abrogate the Treaty of Richmond.
  • Reform your trade laws to remove barriers on foreign businesses in Korea.
  • Accept the purely advisory cabinet position of a Japanese Resident-General to assist in future reforms.

In return, you'll get Japanese support for modernization going forward.

Calling to his personal assistant, the diplomat met him at the door handing him the paper and a list. "Have copies made and delivered to these embassies."

Hey,

OCC

It was pointed out to me that some of you thought I accepted this mistreatment of Korea.

My last post was NOT A ACCEPTANCE of the horrible treaty Japan offered. It was to show the world the evils that Japan wishes to inflict on Korea.

I would have thought the shaking of the head side to side would have made the point.

I hope this clears it up.

Spain would also like a guarantee that there would be no aggression in the Pacific Sea, and more specifically, in the Philippines, as we have received info about Japanese plans towards Spanish possessions there.

Korea did the right thing by making Japanese gunboat diplomacy attempt public. Rest assured, you will not be abandoned by the other Great Powers.

Venezuela confirms all requests for oil purchases to date.

In regards to the slave trade, you've all made good points, and I retract my previous statements on its existence.

To: Venezuela
From: Argentina

We would like to purchase 100 fuel for 10 EP.

From Russia
To all industrialized nations with surplus supply

We are looking for a country that'd be willing to produce military supply for the needs of Russian Imperial army. If your country outproduces its own needs, we'd be willing to pay you with EP, fuel, or various other economic concessions. We do not expect you to cover full demand for military supply our army generates, but even a fraction of that amount could qualify for a trade deal we are willing to discuss.

If you find yourself interested, please contact our diplomats openly or privately with your terms and desired rates.

This would have been the 48 hour warning, but I have decided to push the update back a week to 11/2/2015, as there are still some concerns about tweaking starting stats and I have yet to decide whether or not to drop Fuel as a stat.

Drop it. It's way too much effort.

Either drop it altogether or use the trade system from BOTWAWKI, when there's global market with a fixed price that players can sell fuel and supply to or buy it from there. Players still can trade resources directly to each other surpassing the market, but they don't have to do that.

That actually would make sense, because governments are not the only consumer of fuel/supply, but there's always big private demand for such goods.

Of course, I don't know if it creates more work for you. But the current system requires too much micromanagement.

I'm fully in favour of Ahigin's idea. I'd rather not drop fuel without at least giving it a try.

I fully support the idea of the BOTWAWKI idea for Oil

As a fuel producer I would like to throw my support behind the market idea.

Honestly I'm not sure the 1900s needs a fuel mechanic at all. Oil crises (which are gonna be inevitable with a market) weren't a feature of that part of time at all, and are better represented as soft actions caused by players than hard mechanics. Honestly its not really necessary.

As a low tier fuel producer I see a benefit in the market model. Honestly though, I think that supplies more than cover fuel. Fuel market and all that entails just seems a bit extra. Honestly for fuel producers with extra, since you've already done the work, why don't you just add a little to their economic number? Right now, the way Venezula looks, they will be rolling in money, and that's with oil selling at $.1 per barrel.

I agree with Khan and Warrior, and I think that fuel production should be rolled into EP and increase supply costs of fuel using units.

Russo-Polish Treaty of Economic Cooperation:
Spoiler :
The Empire of Russia and the Kingdom of Poland thus willingly agree and are responsible to:
1. Lower custom tariffs for goods produced in either of the countries and their effective satellites;
2. Minimize the list of formalities required for foreign investment and outsourcing of labor from one of the above mentioned countries to another (including their effective satellites);
3. Reasonably lower port duties for each other's ships;
4. Provide reasonable discount in strategic trade deals taking place between both of the countries when no third power is involved;
5. Withdraw any mutual territorial claims (including territorial claims against effective satellites of one another).

Signed,
His Imperial Majesty, By the Grace of God, Emperor and Autocrat of All the Russias Vladimir I Alexandrovich Romanov
