Amon with the update!

Update 11 3800BC

The 300-400 year old artuous skinflayer turns his roll from warlord to explorer and trader.... And expands the border of Ravindra!

The people of Galivan start working on the "Unification Monument", to signify to the respective tribes within their federation that they are one body. The culture of this land starts to distinguish itself from the surrounding tribes, who look up to this federation with respect.

The people of Nehalem strike trade with their neighbors, the janjaweed, and the Janjaweed teach the Nehalem to create their ships in return. The nehalem are quick learners and peaceful people. They begin to extract papyrus and begin a uniform alphabet. This doesn't quite work too well, but they make impressive strides in the field.

The Germanic people continue to expand at the expense of their neighbors, continuing to spread their barbarous and pillaging culture to their neighbors.

Nias' Golden age ends, and a new "NPC age" starts, as their ruler (Iggahw) doesn't have time to send orders. Hopefully he will come back and rescue Nias before it crumbles from the inside out, like so many empires in history do.

The Mughals pass the Persians, and are now poised to either strike, or pass the Wodjenites.

The Rajai assign Han Oi who have proven themselves to the Rajai to learn his people to work their new boats.

They also put to use a new class of people called the "Knowmen" which are basically Rajai scholars. Put in charge of gathering, preserving, and passing on knowledge. They soon find out about Nehalem papyrus and how they were trying to form a form of alphabet, but couldn't. These Rajai knowmen do, however, and they start a library with all the scrolls they make in Rajapur, the original fortress. This is a significant step for the Rajai, as they now have a very good means of saving information for the next generation and so forth to learn from.

Vabbia expands through trade and colonisation on the islands around them. They start to build primitive walls and started gathering large quantities of limestone. It seems as if the Vabbians are going to become advanced.. Especially for their region.

The Rajai War

The Han Oi forces get cut off from their Ratajok allies, and destroyed. Their defense was valiant, however, but the odds were extremely against them. They then set up a defensive war against the Ratajok, with a group of raiders sent off on war canoes to cause havoc behind enemy lines. This makes it tough for the Ratajok to keep their whole border safe, as they have to effectively garisson every province within their federation.... Luckilly, they have the money to do so, and the dammage from the Rajai raiders are minimised.

At the same time, the fort that has been sieged finally fell to the Fendiar professionals, and the Kan-Fendiar offensive continues, harassed as it may be, by Rajai guerillas.

Then the Kan force is attacked, suddenly, by a large Rajai force. This came out of nowhere, and put the Kan to flight. The Kan, as usual, screens it's retreat with horsemen, and their army is saved from destruction.

Hearing of this, the Fendiar army sets up to defend the forts they have captured in the Rajai style of defense. When the Rajai arrive to defeat the Fendiar, the ensueing battle ends with no definitive victor. The Fendiar almost become surrounded, but they are saved by their horsemen, end up outflanking the Rajai. The Rajai then concentrate on the Fendiar center with a mass attack that was so ferocious that it took the fendiar out of their captured fort. Now the northern powers are in retreat, but are still a very great danger to the security of the Rajai homeland.

100 years war in 3800BC

The Celti-Normanic Gauls increase many aspects of their nation's power, and attempt to build better ships than the Brits. This is done, with the invention of the simple longboat. They try and cut the Gaul's supply with these ships, but a limited number of them allow the Britland navy to easilly squash the resistance.

On the land, however, the Gaulic people fully subdue the Britland colony, and put britland to sea. They then expand through friendship to their other neighbors.

Next update will be on Sunday. Stories and orders!

The update is here, and the story can continue.

True. I would just like to point out that the Ratajok would really have to stretch themselves thin in order to effectively protect all their settlements here. Also, did we have any combat with their fleet?

For the record, how many warriors could fit on a war canoe? And, for that matter, a war raft.

5 per canoe, lol. So you were effectively raiding their coast with 250 warriors. No naval battle. The ratajok spend alot of their "Great+++" economy to gain men, and now they have over 20 thousand. They would have gained much more land against you were they not preoccupied with your raiders.A war raft can hold something between 5 and 10 guys, but it's easilly outmaneuvered by a war canoe lol.

This could be good.

Are we getting closer to a society with cities?

Yes (10 characters) Nias already has a couple of cities. Rajai has 2 cities. Fendiar has a city. Ravindra has a city. Civilization's still based in Siam, but it's about time for things to start happening outside Siam.

Out of curiosity - where is our second city, exactly, and when did it arise? I suppose that formally it still will be just another satellite fortress, whilst de facto it would become something more by now.

Rajapur, the original fortress has developed into a city, along with the Han Oi capitol. Those are your 2 cities.

Huzzah! New update:goodjob:

The Polar North obviously Iggy! ;)

Amon with the update!

Exactly.

Really though I'm from Edmonton Alberta. For those unknowing (and I'm stating who might or might not know), Alberta is above the 49th parallel, east of the rockies and Edmonton is roughly in the center.

Edit: I just noticed that you my misplaced penguin, are even more polar than me.

*Somewhere in the mountains, at the largest Stone quarry, and the site of a Cord village, a caravan headed for the unification statue is about to leave*

Sam: Hurry up you maggots! We need to caravan loaded before Midday! Oh hey Bob.

Bob: *mutters something* Hey Sam. *more muttering*.

Sam: What’s the matter? This is our biggest caravan in weeks!

Bob: I know. But the builders are complaining about the inaccurate loads.

Sam: Neh?

Bob: *sigh* Okay here is the deal. The builders need to know how much stuff is in each load so the their quartermaster can pay us. However whenever I tell on of those blasted apprentices the amount they always forget.

Sam: So tell two?

Bob: Tried it. They’ll both get it wrong and the builders don’t know what to think.

*Whoop of excitement*

Bill: Hey guys look at this!

*Bob and Sam wander over to Bill. Bill has who stones, a white one and a black one, and the black one has strange white lines all over it*

Bob: Weird slate their Bill. Is that what this is all about?

Bill: No, no, no! I hit the slate with this chalk rock, and it made these white lines! Watch this!

Sam and Bob: Woah!

Sam: Hey Bob that’s the answer!

Bob: Neh?

Sam: You can make lines on the slate with the chalk! Then say on line is a single tonne, two is two tonnes, a little squiggly is obsidian, this circle can be marble.

Bob: By the Unifier that’s brilliant Sam! Hey Steve can you run the mine for several weeks?

Steve: *muffled voice* Sure thing Bob!
Bob: All right I’m going to the Unifier statue to discuss this with the builders. I’ll be back in a month!

I'm supposed to update tonight with 2 sets of orders? Give me a break.

Sorry Amon orders now, story in a bit...

Keep expanding! Up the rivers primarily. As usual spread the Tapestry through preachers and skinflaying if need be.

Build a great big statue of Artuous Skinflayer (wonder) it will increase our armies skill.

Orders sent, sorry!

It was another day... another... flay? Well you know the story, Ravindra was expanding and had shown no signs of slowing down, or of anyone trying to slow them down. Every time they assimilated new tribes of people they took what was best of their culture, technology and stuff and scrapped the rest. And so the tapestry was ever changing, ever growing outwards and onwards. It had been many years since their last real war and simple logic suggested it wouldnt be long until they made contact with another society that would fall on its knees straight away. That was ok if they chose to be aggressive to start with their legs could be removed to the knee so they wouldnt have to fall anymore. And if they simply accepted the tapestry the Ravindrans would simply let them be, after of course 'aggressively sharing' what was best about them.

It was decided the people needed a hero to remember long after the tapestry took him for rebirth. So Artuous Skinflayer was chosen and a great statue of him started. It looked nice and mighty and would serve to inspire their armies to great acts of daring, courage and skinflaying.

Meanwhile, the priests of the tapestry warned of upcoming storms...
