I also posted this in the
CFC Chess Players Social Group (founded by WhiteEagle), here it is again :
The CFC* chess.com team is participating in a
Team tournament (thanks to DaveShack for setting it up!

).

What's a team game, Narz?
Good question. A team game is basically a one on one throwdown where our team goes head to head vs. another team, our #1 guy faces their #1, our #2 vs. their #2, all the way down the line (ratings will inevitably shift during the course of a match). The winner of the team match is the team that scores the most points during the match (a win=1, draw=.5, loss=0).
Here is an example of a completed team match.
For more details on the team tournament click the first link is this thread (and see the 5th post by DaveShack).
--------------------------------------
Three team matches are now open & ready for people who want to play to join in. The stronger a player you are the better but as long as there is a person on the other team for you to play you will get to play if you want to (assuming you don't have a timeout ratio of 100% like
this guy
).
--------------------------------------
Here are the three matches open right now (as of May 15th, myself or Dave will lock them within 2-5 days) :
Narz's People vs. Chess Shingami (we don't need any more players on this one - if you sign up you may not get to play due to limited # of opponents)
Narz's People vs. 666 (we probably don't need more players on this one but we may)
Narz's People vs. Checkmate! (we
definitely need more players for this one, the team we're facing is double our size and already has 26 players signed up vs. 8 for us)
--------------------------------------
Thanks for being part of the team & please do your damnedest to help your comrades win! Narz's People is nothing without you, the people!

FTW!

*Narz's People is open to everyone interested but around 50% of active participants in team chess & about 80% of the vote chess players are from CivFanatics.
