That's right Avatar fans! The creators of Avatar: The Last Airbender, Brian Konietzko and Michael Di Martino have confirmed that there is a new spin-off avatar series to be released in 2011. The show is set 70 years in the future, and follows the events of the next avatar after Aang, a waterbender named Korra.

Here's the Wiki Article:

So who's excited for this?

dude I am so psyched I might not even change my avatar between now and then dude

so.

psyched.

I am incredibly excited. I literally jumped out of my chair when I saw the thread on TrekBBS with the news.

Since Korra is the Avatar directly after Aang, it means that he will be her Spirit Guide like Roku was for Aang. I hope he decides to show himself as the 112 year old who saved the world and not the age Aang died at (probably around 66 biologically).

A:TLA was originally planned to be a miniseries too, but we saw what happened there.

Toph: Do you really think that friendships can last more than one lifetime?

-from Book 3, Episode 6 (The Avatar and the Firelord)

HINT HINT

This will wash away the anguish I experienced watching that thing some people might call a film.

Hopefully the first episode can make us all forget the horrible torture ,or the "film" as some might call it.

Looking forward to it.

This is gonna be amazing. They better not end it after 12 episodses, though. Do you guyst think that any of the original characters will still be around? We know Aang won't be there since Korra is the next Avatar, but what about the others?

BTW, I just goined the Avatar group. :goodjob:

Like I mentioned before, atm I'd bet money on Toph coming back and being kind of like a Bumi/Gyatso type character.

It has been hinted at by the creators that Guru Pathik (who was 150 in A:TLA) might still be alive, and considering that Kyoshi was 230 when she died, it isn't that implausible.
