Avatars. Why do you have yours?

Why have you got your avatar that you have? Does you avatar have any special meaning?

Mine is of the Classical composer, Claude Debussy. I have been changing my avatars with the many Great Classical composers that I have.

My avatar is of Tewodros, an Ethiopian king in the mid 19th century. Apparently I'm related to him on my father's side (although he was technically a peasant king and not related to Solomon, but I'm apparently related to Solomon and General Abreha(sp?, I don't really remember his name correctly) from the 6th century invasion of Yemen on my mother's side).

My avatar is Sheeta from Hayao Miyazaki's anime movie he directed back in 1986, Castle in the Sky.

My previous avatar was of Ahmed Shah Massoud, a man I respect because he fought both the Soviets and later the Taliban. He was killed by a suicide bomb 2 days before 9/11, obviously there was a connection. He was one of the greatest guerrilla commanders of the 20th century and fought two of the most tyrannical forces of the century as well.

The current one is of Bernie Williams and Derek Jeter to show my support for the home team. Plus I love these two guys. They're true Yankees.

Mine is the Albainian flag. I really like the double headed eagel on the red background. The double headed eagel has been a symbol for many things including the Romanaov Dynasty, the Hapsburgs, and the Wodeyears.
